Peggy at one year old. We think she is very pretty and she loves being out in the field. However she would pick a swim every time over a walk!

Peggy has been trained to follow silent instructions (hand signals). She works with family members who have special needs and their verbal instructions are not clear. You can see both of them working together on a heel walk, stop, person walks away and returns exercise.

Peggy relaxing. She loves a fluffy comfy bed and will happily share with the other dogs or even better a small person!

Peggy loves affection and attention and has made a fabulous PAT dog. She constantly provides emotional support at home with our family members with special needs. Its always funny to see her get into awkward positions just to get a cuddle with someone.

I have worked with a local dog trainer for the last 9 years helping in puppy, obedience and fun agility classes. Learning about dogs’ behaviour, training and working with dogs is definitely a passion of mine. I have been a teacher for children with Special Educational Needs and am now a foster carer for children and young people with SEN. I have seen first-hand the impact dogs can have on families lives who support someone with additional needs. In 2022 I completed the Dogs for Good family dogs’ workshop to help me train our lovely dogs to work with our own children with special needs. In 2023 our pretty Peggy passed her assessment as a PAT (Pet As Therapy) and now enjoys providing therapy sessions to local schools.
