Our kennel Fhairmhor (pronounced Fire more) was established in the 1970’s by my Grandparents Isabel and Wattie Blyth. In 1993 when I was 9 years old my grandparents had a litter from Fhairmhor Startrekker (3rcc) x Fhairmhor Macushla JW and we kept my special boy Fhairmhor Stormtrooper.

I started showing him in both handling and breed classes in 1994. Trooper received his stud book number in 1997, qualified for the KCJO Stakes Finals at Crufts 3 years in a row and was reserve Scottish Junior Handler of the Year in 1999, we even appeared on a Pedigree Chum advert! He was one in a million and everything that a golden retriever should be.

In 2015, we brought home Luna (Rigerin Spanish Dreams at Fhairmhor). Luna qualified for Crufts at her first show and was placed 3rd in a class of 36 at Crufts 2016. She continued to do us proud in the ring before her maternity duties in 2018, where she produced a beautiful litter with Sh Ch Stanroph Still on Top at Ponfeigh.

From that litter we kept Fhairmhor Haud Yer Wheesht at Rigerin (co-owned with Cathy McShane) who has made us so proud by becoming our first Show Champion. His litter sister Fhairmhor Wee Midden at Strathain (owned by Evelynne Hain) achieved her stud book number in 2022.

I am proud that our Fhairmhor goldens are biddable, friendly and always striving to please. They are very much loved at home by us and the kids (aka ‘biscuit feeders’!!)
