For most of my life I’ve had a 4 legged companion or two, sometimes even several. In the period of having children I lacked the time for a permanent companion and so volunteered to foster for local rescues, in which I was very fortunate to have seen some really anxious and scared pups blossom into confident and happy dogs, who all found their forever homes straight from my home. During this time I adopted my partner and his dog, a beagle called Baxter.
When I grew up my grandparents had a Rhodesian ridgeback, who I have very fond memories of, and she was the reason for our search for one. We were on several breed rescue waiting lists but impatience got the better of us and so along came Torvi (East Sea). Since we have added another Ridgeback to our family, a rescue called Hela.
