Puppy Daddy - upcoming litter

Puppy Daddy - upcoming litter

We have had working type spaniels for last 19 years, first springers and now cockers. They are such loyal dogs, little shadows. I trained up my first springer through the gundog working tests and enjoyed going beating with her. Since then I have followed the gundog training as they thrive on retrieving games. It really builds the bond and creates a lifetime partnership.

We have a mini pack of 3 spaniels, the last of our springers, Aunty Sprocket at 13yrs old, Teal our first working cocker now 5 years, and her mini-me daughter Heidi 2 years.

This year I have been focusing on training up our young keeper from Teal's 2nd litter, Heidi, and was very pleased to see her loving her first picking up experiences. She really has matured into the most responsive and attentive of our dogs to date. With her coming into season at her 2 birthday the search commenced to find a suitable match for us to continue the line and improve Teal's legacy. I was very excited to track down a gorgeous young stud dog from a championship litter, Helmsway Warrior of Thistlecrack (Chip). He is fully health tested with good temperament, lovely looking chocolate/Liver dog, matching in colour and size to Heidi.

Pups arrived 27th December. A fantastic litter of 5 girls and 2 boys. Heidi is being an amazing mum, calm and attentive. All pups have been reserved to loving homes with families keen to follow gundog training.

We are very excited to be keeping one of the girls, maintaining the pack of three as very sadly our old springer Sprocket, didn't make it through the Christmas holidays. The potential in this line of working cockers is very exciting. I'm looking forward to getting back out on the working field with Heidi, training her for working tests and getting to know our new family member.

All being well, we may have another litter from Heidi Spring 2027 (although my husband says 'never again'!).
