We are a small show-kennel based in Aberdeeshire. Our dogs live in our home and are very much part of the family. Our aim is to breed healthy Whippets with a sound temperament whilst keeping conformation & breed type a priority. Our Whippets are, or have been, actively campaigned at Championship Show level. They are pets first and show-dogs second. My introduction into showing and this beautiful breed was Tara - Fire Fashion Dancer (d.o.b. 09/04/2003). I had no idea she was from show lines when I got her as a pet. She is by Wheelspin Sparring Partner out of Cosmic Star. In 2005 I saw a companion show advertised in the local paper and I thought I'm going to give this a go. We entered into the fun class, 'prettiest bitch' which was a massive class and Tara won it! I couldn't wait for the following year so I could go back to the show (I thought there was only one show a year, how wrong was I). Just under a year later in May 2006, David's mum got a Border Collie. She sought out a ringcraft class to take him to train obedience. She told me that they did show training there too. The following week we were there! I picked up some show schedules and as they say the rest is history. Tara & I had a lot of fun days and she won numerous 'Best of Breed' at Limit shows even went on to 'Best in Show' at one. We went to our first championship show in 2007 and although she wasn't placed we enjoyed our trip. Then at SKC in May 2007 she qualified for Crufts. I was so excited! During those months I was on the look out for a new puppy to show and found Tia - Peperone Pink Pearl (d.o.b. 01-06-2007). Tia is from Jessie & Johnston McLeod of the Peperone Kennel. She is by Ch. Peperone Palmero out of Ch/Aus Ch Peperone White Heather. Tia was bought primarily as a pet but also with showing in mind. I wanted to have some fun with her and that is just what we did. During 2008 we went to a handful of Championship shows. Tia's highest placing was a 4th so unfortunately we didn't qualify for Crufts that year. In November 2008, we went to the Whippet Club of Scotland Limit Show. Tia won Junior, Open, Best Bitch and then 'Best in Show'!!! I couldn't believe it and was delighted! The judge was Alayna Allen. Alayna took a lot of interest in Tia from then on and she guided me through 2009 where my mission was to get Tia qualified for Crufts 2010. At SKC in May, Tia was 3rd in yearling and qualified. I was over the moon - we were going to Crufts! Between May and Sept we went to a lot of championship shows but unfortunately we weren't placed. Alayna had suggested that I put Tia into the Limit class and in Sept 2009 Tia gained her Stud Book Number under Claudia Ledger. A day I will never forget! By the end of 2009 I had decided my mission for 2010 was to get a second place in a Championship Show class. The first show of 2010 was Crufts. Tia was entered in Limit and there were about 30 entries. Tia won that class and was then awarded the Reserve Bitch CC! Dreams do come true! I had literally day-dreamed of moments like that and I couldn't believe it! In May 2010 Tia was awarded the Bitch CC & 'Best of Breed' at SKC! Another big surprise and a day I will never forget. Unfortunately, Tia did not ultimately enjoy the show ring which was one of the reasons why I stopped showing her. She is a happy girl though and has a good life at home with me. Then along came Tilly - Zoraden Caramel Latte at Marvidara (d.o.b. 22/09/2012). Tilly is from Darryn & Alayna Allen of the Zoraden Kennel. Tilly is by Citycroft Never Forget out of Ch Triken Timeless Star JW. After a lot of thought and a lot of observing at shows I decided I wanted another puppy and I decided this was the kennel I wanted to get one from. Tilly is maturing into a beautiful girl and she has the sweetest nature I have ever seen. She was shown during 2013 when she was consistently placed and more lightly in 2014; she qualified for both Crufts 2014 and 2015.
