Welcome to 'Torbers' a very small and select Whippet show kennel based here in Cornwall.
All my dogs live as spoilt! family members in the house, very much pets first and foremost.
A little bit of my history within the dog world..............
I have been fortunate to have been working with dogs from a very early age, firstly with the family Dobermanns who were all shown also they were very accomplished in the Working Trials area of competition. This always went against the old adage "working dogs and show dogs don't do well out of their respective fields of competition"
Over the years I have been lucky enough to have been employed in some of the worlds best show kennels such as Tavey Dobermanns, Buckhurst Irish Wolfhounds, Ormandy & Souperlative Bull Terriers. Way back in time during the 1970's I have judged both Bull Terriers and Dobermanns
I have also travelled the USA as assistant show handler to the late George Rood of Dayton, Ohio.
All of the above gave me a wonderful grounding and insight into the world of dogs as a whole.
Puppies at 'Torbers' are few and far between, when I want to keep one for myself and after very careful consideration to parentage will I have a litter.
When I have a litter I try to breed for quality of soundness in temperament, health, conformation, type with elegance and of course all important the classic curvy Whippet shape, so very important in this beautiful breed which I feel is somewhat being lost within the breed at this present time.
