Fleetgold is a small kennel, specialising in Black and Tans. I breed very infrequently. My dogs are first and foremost pets, showdogs second and are my constant companions. I also do obedience with my dogs at club level and all my dogs have Kennel Club Good Citizen awards at one level or another, up to Peanut who was one of the first at my club to get the Gold award and is, I think, the first Griffon to gain this award. She has since been joined in holding this award by her daughter Pumpkin. Django and Cocoa Bean are at present on their Silver awards and hope to go on to take the Gold. Tagg and Truffle hold their Bronze awards.
Late in 2000 I decided to broaden the gene pool for black and tans in the UK by taking Pumpkin (Fleetgold Patsy Pumpkin) over to Belgium to mate her to Wim Colle and Mario Poucelle's French, Belgian and International Champion Rickshaw's Caught Redd Handed, a black and tan rough dog who was born in America and moved to Belgium whilst still a pup. This was a great success and I very much thank Wim and Mario for allowing me to use their wonderful dog Caan. 5 puppies, 3 rough coated black and tan dogs and 2 smooth black and tan bitches were born on my birthday, 8 February 2001.
Not shown in any of these photos but much loved is Ellie (Bilchry Elosie), Peanut's mother and grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother to the others. She came to live with us in 2002 when her breeder and devoted dad, Bill Bradbury, went into hospital and sadly later died. Bill sold me my first Griffons and became a close friend and it is an honour to have his beloved Ellie live with us.
