Roddy has been involved in gundogs for over 40 years and won his first Field Trial in 1983. Over the years he has firmly established himself both as a successful trainer and handler, making up three dogs to Field Trial Champions. Roddy has represented Scotland over 40 times, both with Labradors and Spaniels, as well as winning the CLA Home International on three occasions and qualifying five times for the International Gundog League Championship, placing on two of those occasions.
Roddy has judged at many top level events both at home and around the world. He is also the founder and current chairman of the Moray Firth Spaniel and Retriever Club.
Fraser has grown up around gundogs and has been closely following in his Fathers footsteps. He has his own career running gundogs and has been successful in many working tests at both novice and open level. In 2018 he won his first trial and in 2021 made Omachie Colonel of Carnochway up to Field Trial Champion. With this accomplishment they qualified for the IGL retriever championship and finished in 2nd place.
In 2024 Fraser and OFTW Carnochway Red Rooster (Rocky) qualified for the IGL Championship.
