The Sofala pack at home - we strive to produce not only good looking dogs as close to the breed standard (blueprint) as possible but healthy dogs with good temperaments from health tested parents with great health test results.

Ghili- has the most wonderful temperament and she adores children particularily. She was a model 'mum' with her litters. The pups have also proved themselves to be wonderful healthy examples of the breed & have won well in the show ring winning her the title of top UK RR Brood Bitch 2015!

Sybil - who has just started her show career with her brother Jimbob is pictured here at the Southern Rhodesian Ridgeback Club at 8 months of age where she was awarded the Reserve bitch Challenge Certificate (her first Championship show!). What an exciting start to her show career.

Tiguan is a happy easy-going girl & a joy to live with. She has had a successful time in the show ring winning her first Challenge Certificate at 16 months of age (& being awarded Reserve Best in Show) at The Southern Rhodesian Ridgeback Association (SRRA) out of an entry of 136. She was awarded her 2nd Challenge Certificate & Best of Breed in 2015 at Three Counties. She has also won three Reserve Challenge Certificates & also Best Puppy in Show at SRRA.

Sofala kennel has been breeeding Rhodesian Ridgebacks for more than 25 years. We strive to produce beautiful animals with good temperaments and ensuring all those being bred from have had all the essential health checks. They are checked for hip and elbow dysplasia . Also the genetic tests for haemophilia B and Degenerative Myelopathy - a condition which causes collapse of the hind quarters between the ages of 7 - 12 years old. we have never put a healthy pup to sleep - any ridgeless pups have found the same wonderful homes as those with ridges. They are just as beautiful. Should their new family wish to participate in a canine activity there is plenty of fun and competition in obedience and agility and the dogs love it.
