I absolutely love Spanish Water Dogs. They are intelligent, hard working, funny and extremely affectionate. Living with a primitive breed has meant that I have had to learn a lot about "Dog" - about their body language and how they communicate and how to enrich their lives ensuring they are mentally stimulated and have a safe and loving home.
In order to continually improve our lives together I attend seminars on behaviour and nutrition as often as possible.
I am passionate about nutrition, health and fitness and therefore only feed a species appropriate diet, so no processed food and no pesticides. I believe that in conjunction with health testing, nutrition and diet should play a key part when considering breeding and choosing a mate. I also strive to improve temperament but equally to retain the authenticity of the breed.
Whilst we have dabbled in many disciplines, including showing, agility, scent work, sheep dog training, Rally and Hoopers, I believe that it is important that dogs are allowed to be dogs, are given choice, have doggie friends and are given the option to choose where they sleep. I am a friend of Pet Dog Trainers of Europe / as I believe strongly in their ethics and share their philosophy and approach that honours dogs and our connection to them.
Our dogs are MUCH loved family members who live in the home.
