Dogs have always been a part of my life.
My Mother bred and showed Pekingnese, and ran a busy boarding kennel.
I bred and showed Afghans for many years, as well as supported my Mother in running the kennels.
Candidacasa was my Mother's affix which passed to me.
The Flatcoats always appealed to me and I bought my first in 1977.
I was then out of the breed for a few years until I bought my foundation bitch Highammill Pandora (Broom) in 2002. Broom had a litter to Almanza Roundabout in 2006 from which I kept Frankie - Candidacasa RollaCoaster - who has done well at Championship show level, gaining 5 Challenge Certificates (CC's) and 3 Reserve Challenge Certificates (RCC) making him a Show Champion. He is the father of my bitch Montegrino Mystic Meg by Candidacasa (Lola) who is doing well in the show ring and has achieved her stud book number, qualifying her for Crufts for life.
I also co-own Sh Ch Covenstead Ambassador (Barney) who was imported from Norway. Barney is a son of International Champion Almanza Far & Flyg, who won the Gundog Group at Crufts in 2007. Barney's mother has a mix of Norwegian and British breeding lines. Barney has sired consistently well and had the title of Stud dog of the year.
In 2009 Barney spent some time back with his breeder Nina Skjelbred in Norway, where he became a Norwegian and Swedish Champion and qualified in Field Trials. He is now back in the UK.

I work with my dear friend Christine Young of the Ballyriver Kennel.

Jennifer Flynn my youngest member of Candidacasa also works very closely with my flatcoats, shows, trims and promotes my kennel to the highest standard.

I also own a number of other flatcoats which are shown lightly, and occasionally have puppies available.
