Judges Critique translated by Lindy Kunz (transcribing for judge Maija Annested)
May I offer you a better translation of Jelly de Jong's critique of Geilo on Sunday!
Two and a half year old male dog with medium bone, male head; ears, eyes correct, good back, chest could be better developed, beautiful coat, agreeable character, movement at the back somewhat inhibited.
The judges at Burgdorf didn't have time to concentrate on their grammer - and Jelly de Jong is Dutch - dictating in German so more people could understand their reports! "geht hinten ein bisschen gehemmt" - the word "geht" in German refers to movement and does not mean "goes" in this sense. "Gehemmt" can mean "shy" but in this case means "inhibited" - I can only think she meant he wasn't moving freely at the back. I have been studying the different judges reports on the two days and sometimes it is hard to believe it is the same dog. But that is dog shows!
I hope this is of some help to you - you have gorgeous dogs and I hope you know how lucky you have been with your imports - they don't always turn out as well, as we here in Middle Europe have unfortunately discovered.
If I can be of any further help with German, please let me know.
