Dale Gudbrand's C-Geilo Zala at Staubach (Imp Nor)

KBS Klubschau Switzerland (BMDC of Switzerland)
11th September 2005
Judge : Burgi, Regula, Frau (Swiss)
Breed : Bernese Mountain Dog
Fourth Jungendklasse (Youth Class) Male (11 entries)

There were 2 abscent in the class. The Swiss system of judging and placing the dogs is very good, a lot better than the UK system. In the morning the judge views all the dogs and grades them as follows: V (excellent) - S.G. (very good) - G (good) Gen. (general) & ungen (not acceptable). From all these grades only 4 are selected, if there are 4 or more V's the judge selects 4 from these. If for example there are only 2 V's then the other 2 are selected from all dogs graded S.G. In Geilo's class there were 2 V's & 5 S.G's, Geilo was selected from these 5 to go forward to the afternoon selection, the remaining S.G.s were rejected. In the afternoon all classes are brought into the main ring where each judge selects the places for the 4. They give the reasons for their selection & placings to the spectators over the P.A. system. In Geilo's class there was 1 dod the same age - two 5 mths older, one 6 mths older & one 9 mths older.

CRITIQUE: (TRANSLATED)
Excellent teeth & bite, head a little large for body at moment, ex colour and markings, dark eyes, ex bone, good in movement front, side and rear - could move a little faster. Needs a little more weight, however he is at the interim stage at present. Has excellent temperament and character.
A very good male.
