Champdogs Requirements for Pyrenean Mountain Dogs

Litters

• Both parents must be a recognised standard colour for the breed
• The sire of the litter must be at least 14 months old on the litter due date
• The dam of the litter must be at least 24 months old on the litter due date
• The dam of the litter must be under the age of 8 years old on the litter due date
• The dam must not have whelped another litter within 11 months of the litter due date
• The sire and dam must both have had the following health tests :
  • Hip Score with the total score of both hips below 19 (* see note below)
• It is recommended both the sire and dam have had the following health tests :
  • Elbow Grade of zero (* see note below)

(*) If a hip score or elbow grade exceeds the acceptable value or if an older dog has not been sored or graded we will consider Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs) and may allow a litter to be listed if the appropriate combined EBV for the parents is lower than 5. If no recent elbow EBVs are available for a breed we may also allow a litter to be listed if a parent has an elbow grade of 0/1 or 1/0.

Stud Dogs

• The dog must be a recognised standard colour for the breed
• The dog must be at least 18 months old
• The dog must have had the following health tests :
  • Hip Score with the total score of both hips below 19 (* see note below)
• It is recommended the dog has had the following health tests :
  • Elbow Grade of zero (* see note below)

(*) If a hip score or elbow grade exceeds the acceptable value or if an older dog has not been scored we will consider Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs) and may allow a stud dog to be listed if the appropriate EBV is lower than 20. If no recent elbow EBVs are available for a breed we may also allow a stud dog to be listed if he has an elbow grade of 0/1 or 1/0.
