Barwoods GSD's are members of the KCAB (Kennel Club Assured Breeder UKAS Accredited) since 2008 and has been inspected. Last inspection April 2022.(Report can be seen on request)

The Kennel Club are the only organisation accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to certify dog breeders, under the Kennel Club Assured Breeder Scheme. This means that the Kennel Club is recognised as an impartial and competent inspector by the government's sole national accreditation body.
This gives the puppy buying public additional confidence that Assured Breeders are committed to meeting and maintaining high standards for caring for the health and welfare of their puppies and breeding bitches, and are the best point of contact for buying a healthy, happy puppy.

All our breeding bitches have their DNA Profile recorded with the GSD Breed Council.

Barwoods bitches are (DM) Degenerative Myelopathy DNA tested clear (2 copies, one from each parent)

All our breeding bitches hold a GSD Breed Council Survey Class 1.
The purpose of the breed survey procedures is to select dogs for breeding that appear particularly suited in regards to their temperament, their performances and their physical appearance.

All Barwoods puppies are home reared in a family environment. They have excellent temperaments, live in the house, are used to household noises, and have endless stream of visitors, all making fabulous pets.

Here at "Barwoods", we pride ourselves on the fact that we produce happy, confident, healthy and extremely well socialised puppies.

The health and happiness of our dogs and puppies are of the upmost importance, and we only breed from dogs who have fabulous temperaments and are extremely healthy.

All our bitches are KC registered, hip scored, and from 2011 elbow scored. The stud dogs that we choose to go to our girls will have the same requirements.

We use the best bloodlines available both in the UK and Internationally. The pedigree's of both sire and dam will be researched for compatibility before any mating takes place.

Once the puppies leave our home from 8 weeks to approved homes, the socialisation then becomes your job, and we cannot stress highly enough how important this job is in order to have a happy, confident dog. We will be "on-hand" to help you every step of the way, and can help you to find good training schools to take your puppy to.

" R " - Progeny not eligible for registration *
" X" - Not eligible for export pedigree.

However, the breeding endorsement may be removed after all health tests have been done with satisfactory results. Please discuss this with us prior to booking your puppy.
