Improper Coat

Portuguese Waterdogs are easily recognised by their curly or wavy coat, however, dogs with the IC gene variant, tend to have short, flat coat on the muzzle, face and head; short and sometimes sparse coat on the front of their legs, with feathering behind the legs; a full ruff on the neck; and longer, thick coat on their bodies.
