The ZTP (Zuchttauglichkeitsprüfung) is a breed suitability test and incorporates a physical exam which includes weight, size and dimensions along with a obedience assessment. In addition there is a temperament test which is the old style shutzhund 1 handler protection routine where the dog is tested in his defence of his handler.
The ZTP is designed to eliminate aggressive or nervous dogs from the routines. The ZTP is also sometimes to referred to as the BST (Breed Suitability Test) in the UK.
