Heidi is our beautiful family pet and our first German Shorthaired Pointer in the family. She is mostly solid liver in colour but with some patches of white tickle and a white tail that always draws people’s attention (and is good for spotting her in the dark!).

Heidi is average size for the breed, approximately 22 inches in height and 22kg.

She is a loving family dog who gets on well with our children and our older cat Luca.

She loves to run, long and hard, often doing large loops of the fields we’re walking or circling our family as we walk across the beach. She also loves to swim. Heidi is very protective of her family, particularly her daughter Winnie, she doesn’t appreciate strangers approaching her randomly especially if they have out of the ordinary features (which can be embarrassing!) and barks when someone is at the front door, even if it’s just me gone to fetch the milk in!

But most importantly Heidi loves nothing more that to be by your side. She is eager to please and very loyal, but has just enough cheeky attitude to keep you on your toes.

She might not always need a huge amount of physical exercise, not that she’ll ever turn it down. But she likes to be kept entertained and occupied, playing games and interacting with people. She’s not averse to telling you when she’s bored either by bringing toys to your feet or otherwise bouncing in front of you to get your attention to play.
