History
Affenpinschers come from Germany. Affen meaning monkey, that's why they have to have a monkey like expression. They are fun loving, mischievous little dogs. Despite the Affenpinscher's small stature, he is not a delicate dog.
The Affenpinscher is one of the oldest of the toy breeds and they were originally used as ratters.

They are wary of strangers, so don't make friends easy, but when they do they are loyal. The Affenpinscher is a fun-loving, mischievous little dog.
Health
Affenpinschers are mainly a healthy breed but, sometimes, like a lot of small breeds suffer from slipping patella. Now the Affenpinscher breed club have started wanting bitches and dogs who are for mating tested and scored.
