Breeder of:

  • Flat Coated Retriever

I grew up with Skye Terriers and then started myself in Cockers aged 16, establishing the Ronevorg kennel, showing locally and also breeding.
After getting married the family wanted a bigger dog, and we "discovered" flatcoats at Crufts in 1987 and bought "Tara" in 1988.
With my family now grown up I was able to get back into showing in 2004, and bred my first Flatcoat litter in 2008. I also started picking up on the local shoot around 2010.

In 2014 I bought a new foundation bitch - also Tara - from the Oasis of Peace Kennel in the Czech Republic. She had a beautiful pedigree with top winning Scandinavian and Czech lines. She won consistently at shows, gained her stud book number in 2018, qualifying her for Crufts for life and won two Reserve Challenge Certificates. She gave me two daughters Hetti & Winnie.

I abide by the Flatcoated Retriever Society's Code of Ethics and promote the health and welfare of the flatcoated retriever, including BVA/KC eye and hip screening tests.

I am a member of the Kennel Club's Assured Breeder Scheme.

I judge at Championship Show level, awarding my first Challenge Certificates at Bath in July 2021.

I was elected to the Board of the Kennel Club in 2020, sitting until 2022.

I have formed a Ronevorg Breeder Group consisting of 4 of my home-bred Ronevorgs who compete in the KC Breeder Stakes. In 2022 we were the Top winning Gundog team and 3rd All-Breeds, qualifying for the Crufts 2023 finals.

Winnie, Tara/s second daughter, missed all her puppy classes due to Covid but has won consistently since her debut in Junior.
She also demonstrated wonderful working ability, and has already gained her Show Gundog Working Certificate (SGWC).

I also co-own Winnie's brother Wizard, who has also won well at Championship shows and is demonstrating working ability too. He has sired one litter and is available at stud to approved bitches.
