Miniature Wire Haired Dachshund

Shelley's Dajean Kennels have an over 45 year history of breeding top quality dogs.
Although starting with Bullmastiffs (achieving Top-Breeder twice and breeding the top winning bitch in the breed, top-winning brother and sister, along with numerous champions and CC winners) we are now concentrating this expertise mainly on smaller breeds, namely Miniature Wire-haired Dachshunds, and after waiting for many years. We aim to produce quality, good-looking puppies with excellent temperaments and outgoing, friendly personalities.

We are breeding for;
Type, Temperament and Soundness,
believing that all are necessary to produce a healthy, friendly dog thats looks the part and fulfills the need for a companion dog while still capable of performing its original function.
Our pups are born and reared in our home in the Norfolk countryside alongside our children and other dogs. They are introduced to the outside world at 6weeks, to meet our livestock and learn to toilet in the right place, this means they are housetrained very easily.
If you are looking for a friendly, happy, healthy family dog that still knows what it's job is and looks beautiful too, this is what we are striving to breed.All my dogs live together both indoors and out.
I am trying to breed to the correct size and standard and hope to show in the future.
Temperament will always come first though as this is most important for a pet.
Teckel was my first miniature dachshund, although I bred a few standard smooths some 30 years ago.
She produced Tia to Ch. Wildstar Wedgewood, who has a beautiful coat, and was only 9 1/2lb. Terrie carried on the line with her daughter Tori by Waldmeister Jackson. Terrie (Dajean Tee Rest Rial) is from Tia to Toby, she is a lovely little bitch with her fathers outgoing friendly nature, the truest coat and expression and at 10lb is a nice size like her parents now retired from breeding her daughter Tori carries on this line through her daughters by Henry.
Now 2 generations further on I have red and brindle bitches here.
Henry is now retired and my new boys are Trucker (wild boar) Rummy (chocolate boar) Chip (chocolate and tan) Otis (chocolate and tan dapple) all are clear of Lafora's Epilepsy and most of PRA.
They all stand at stud to approved bitches.
All my dachshund breeding stock are tested unaffected or clear for Lafora's Epilepsy, Pra and are all xrayed and scored for ivdd (once old enough at 2 years) making them the most healthtested Miniwire kennel in the UK.

Sulley is a show-winning, fully heathtested clear (Laforas Epilepsy, Pra and a 0 ivdd score) exceptional moving, lovely natured, gentle stud.
His offspring are now winning in the showring and we hope they continue the line of low backscores.
His pups share his sweet nature and correct size.

Dajean Chocolate Chip backscored grade 2 with his son Dajean Oatmeal Cookie both sired some wonderful pps passing on their correct size and outcrossed lines to enable us to keep producing without too high inbreeding.
