Myself Estella & partner Phil are passionate about Manchester Terriers, Black & Tan Coonhounds & Miniature Smooth Haired Dachshunds. Together we have built a successful show/ hobby kennel under the name Rattustrap for our Manchesters & Scenterbay for our Black & Tan Coonhounds and Miniature Smooth Haired Dachshunds. Our affixes being breed specific!
We were proud Kennel Club Assured Breeders until the Kennel Club sadly scrapped this scheme ..... and hold a 5 star highest rating Breeder License with our local authority, so you can be assured our four legged family members are cared for with the highest of welfare standards...and with much love of course!

To date we have owner bred 3 UK Manchester Terrier Champions (each gaining a CC at Crufts), who also hold overseas Champion status. There are Rattustrap Champions in France, Finland, Australia, Poland & Ireland holding multiple European & International titles.
Rattustrap Manchesters also compete in Agility, Rally, Obreedience & Fly Ball homes. Rattustrap Tantalum (Onyx) being a member of the 'Focus' Fly Ball team who won the fly ball competition at Crufts in 2020.
We have also proudly bred a Manchester Terrier who was in the winning team in the Crufts Obreedience finals in 2022 and bred a Manchester Terrier with a Platinum Agility Warrant.

I have previously been the Secretary for the British Manchester Terrier Club and judge the breed at CC level. I now hold the position of Vice Chairperson for the Black & Tan Coonhound Club of GB and was a founder member of the Club.

In the mid 2000's we saw the majestic Black & Tan Coonhound in Southern Illinois and were instantly smitten. From that point we built relationships with breeders and imported the first 2 Black & Coonhounds into the UK from Finland in 2014, when we had the time to give the breed our all.
To establish the breed in the UK we imported several more from the States & Europe & helped others find differing lines to give the breed a solid foundation.

In 2018 our dedication paid off as the Kennel Club accepted our Application for Black & Tan Coonhounds to be added to the Imported Breeds Register.

Fit for function is so important to us and as well as seeing our dogs in the show ring there are Scenterbay Black & Tan Coonhounds in Search and Rescue & Tracking homes.

We have always loved the Dachshund and grew up with them. Several years ago we took the plunge and Betty Brown, a sweet Chocolate and Tan bundle of joy joined our doggo pack. Fizz & Prudence soon followed and we now share our lives with a happy Miniature Dachshund pack.

Although we do spend many a weekend showing and have the occasional litter, first & foremost our four legged pack are our beloved companions.

We now no longer breed Manchester Terriers.
