Cassatess is a small kennel aiming to breed quality Goldens with good temperament, to produce good looking puppies with intelligence and versatility. They can turn their paws to anything from showing, working or companionship.
My love for Goldens began in 1976 with the arrival of Cassie. I had wanted a family pet for my young children to grow up with. I couldn't have chosen a better breed or dog. Cassie was an attractive pale bitch from Westley lines. She was an ideal starter from whom I learned a great deal.
My interest in showing began after Cassie's death at the age of 11 years and when Tessa (Goldenmill Starshine of Cassatess) joined the family. Unfortunately she disliked showing but I had been bitten by the bug. Chloe (Kidston Santorini of Cassatess) came to live with us. She became my foundation bitch, producing quality puppies. Her temperament was exemplary. She was great fun , a clown and a joy to be with. Her son (Cassatess Bion's Quest CDex, UDex, WDex, TDex, ) was one of very few showbred Goldens to obtain such working trial credits. A great ambassador for the breed. Barney was owned and adored by Pauline Jefferey.
Chloe was very much missed when she died at the grand old age of 16 years. However, Callum and Daisy, her grandchildren and Flora and Phoebe her Granddaughters still live here at Cassatess.
This line came to an end because of changes in my personal circumstances and relocation. A change of lifestyle has enabled Cassatess Goldens to continue with two new additions to the family. Josh (Kidston Tutankhamen of Cassatess) has an excellent pedigree and is showing great promise in the showring having qualified for Cruffts 2008. He has a clear eye certificate, and an excellent hip score of 4:7 =11. Most important of all is that he has the same fantastic temperament that Chloe had. He is a clown and is great fun to be with. Lottie (Pandreft Young Love at Cassatess) is showing excellent promise having qualified for Crufts at her first championship show. It is hoped that both she and Josh will form the foundation stock for the future Cassatess kennel. She is a gorgeous bundle of mischief intent on having fun. With Josh's even temperament and handsome good looks I have high hopes for their puppies. Lottie has a clear eye certificate and hip score of 4:3 = 7.

Ruby (Kidston Tarantella with Cassatess) is the latest addition to the kennel. She is Josh's younger sister. Very bright, alert and enthusiastic. Along with Lottie, Ruby has qualified for Crufts 2009, although she has been seldom shown as she finds standing still boring! Ruby has a clear eye certificate, hip score of 6:4 = 10, and elbow score of 0.
