  • German Shepherd Dog

German Shepherds are one of the most cherished and admired dog breeds, renowned for their loyalty, intelligence, bravery, and obedience. These qualities shine brightest in German Shepherds bred in their homeland of Germany, where strict breeding standards ensure they are physically and mentally exceptional. Unfortunately, in the UK, the lack of such rigorous standards can lead to significant issues when buying a German Shepherd.

Without proper health checks and lineage verification, UK-bred German Shepherds may suffer from a variety of physical and mental health problems. This can include common issues like hip and elbow dysplasia, which are often a result of poor breeding practices, or behavioral traits that don’t align with the breed’s renowned characteristics. Whether you’re looking for a companion, a working dog, or a show-quality animal, it’s essential to ensure the breeder prioritizes health, fitness, and temperament to avoid these issues.

Simply having a pedigree or being registered with the Kennel Club is not a guarantee of quality. Many dogs, even those bred under the Kennel Club's guidelines, can still have untested parents and less-than-ideal breeding practices. It's crucial that, as a buyer, you thoroughly check the breeder’s documentation to ensure they are breeding responsibly and with integrity.

At Wolfsrudel, we are committed to the highest standards of German Shepherd breeding, producing dogs that are 100% German and of exceptional quality. Our dogs are not just bred to look good—they are bred to excel. Each of our dogs holds prestigious titles such as ‘V’ or ‘VA’ (Excellent and Very Excellent) ratings, Schutzhund titles, and a Korklasse Class 1 (Breed Survey) award, all from recognized German judges. These distinctions ensure that our dogs meet the highest standards in terms of health, temperament, and working ability. Furthermore, our dogs do not have any UK German Shepherds in their ancestry, guaranteeing a pure bloodline and true-to-breed characteristics.

The physical and mental health of our German Shepherds is our top priority. We conduct extensive health checks, genetic testing, and temperament evaluations to ensure that each dog meets the rigorous demands of the breed. We believe in transparency, and all results from our tests are available for potential owners to review, so you can trust that your investment in a Wolfsrudel puppy is one that will result in a dog who is strong, fit, and capable.

While there are some reputable breeders in the UK, they are far fewer in number than those who breed for quantity over quality. Germany remains the true home of the German Shepherd, and German-bred dogs are widely recognized as the finest in the world. At Wolfsrudel, we uphold the German breeding tradition and offer you a German Shepherd that is a true representative of the breed.

We are not a commercial breeder; breeding German Shepherds is our passion, and we do so with love and dedication. Our dogs are part of a lineage that can be traced back several generations, and occasionally, we have puppies available to families who are ready to welcome a top-quality, well-bred German Shepherd into their home. Located in Salford, just outside Manchester, we are always happy to share our knowledge and answer any questions you may have. For more information or to inquire about upcoming litters, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

At Wolfsrudel, we’re not just breeding dogs—we’re preserving the legacy of the German Shepherd at its finest.

The sire of Cisa’s litter, Watson vom Thermodos, is a world-ranked German Shepherd with an impressive reputation. Known for his strength, size, and exceptional temperament, Watson was named Junghundsieger (Young Dog Sieger) at the World Championship in Nuremberg in 2015. His remarkable presence is complemented by a very good expression, a strong and confident demeanor, and a straight, firm back—qualities that make him a standout in the world of German Shepherds. Watson's lineage and success in both show and working environments have cemented his status as a top-tier dog, and there is an abundance of information and videos available online showcasing his remarkable traits and achievements.

Cisa, the dam of this litter, is a stunning daughter of VA 3 Ustinov vom Römerland, a two-time Italian Champion and world-class competitor. Ustinov's success at the world championships in Germany, combined with his VA (Excellent) rating, makes him one of the breed's finest dogs. Ustinov's father, the renowned Quantum vom Arminius, has produced outstanding dogs, including Zamp vom Thermodos, a world champion. Cisa herself is rated ‘V’ (Excellent) and holds an IPO 1 title, along with Körklasse 1 for life—the highest level of breeding suitability, as evaluated by German judges. Her pedigree includes VA-rated German dogs in every generation, making her a prime example of the breed’s highest standards.

On Cisa’s maternal side, she is a granddaughter of the legendary Hutch von der Kalten Hardt, the Vice Universal Sieger in Germany and a two-time BSP competitor. Hutch’s influence in Cisa’s bloodline contributes to her exceptional qualities, further enhancing her pedigree.

Both Watson vom Thermodos and Cisa have been thoroughly breed surveyed in Germany, and both have passed with the highest level of approval—Class 1, ‘Recommended for Breeding’—and have the TSB (temperament, strength, and behavior) pronounced. This ensures that their offspring will inherit both their superb working ability and outstanding conformation.

The mating took place in Belgium, bringing together these two world-class dogs to produce a litter of puppies that are sure to excel in all aspects, from working roles to show events. Our puppies are available only to approved homes, and due to the exceptional quality of this pairing, they are usually all sold shortly after birth.

Kiera has passed all her DNA tests and Eye test, DNA tests are:
Degenerative Myelopathy (EXON 2) - Clear
Hyperuricosuria - Clear
Coat (Hair) Length - Short
Dwarfism (Pituitary Dwarfism / Hypopituitarism ) - Clear
MDR1 Gene Defect / Ivermectin Sensitivity - Clear
