HIP SCORE 3/5
"LOGAN" is our first weimaraner.
After extensive research and consideration we decided to go for the weimaraner. This was the dog best suited to our lifestyle.
After many phone calls and emails we decided to go for a puppy from Gordon and Angela Ross (BEAGMHOR) www.beagmhor.co.uk . They are successful breeders of weimaraner and welsh springer spaniels.
It was Gordon and Angela who introduced us to the showing side of things. I must admit that i was very sceptical at first but after a couple of successful outings myself and my fiance Christine started to see the attraction. We would be the first to admit that we started a little too late with Logan , not "standing" him until he was a year old , but never the less we have had a few good results including being placed at CRUFTS each time we have made the journey.
We have now become really good friends with Gordon and Angela . I shoot on a regular basis with Gordon who is the shoot captain in our shooting syndicate. It is great to see all the weimaraners out working together.
My life revolves around the countryside and shooting. After two years of extensive training , I now use Logan as my rough shooting dog - he finds game with ease and is very steady to the gun. We are lucky enough to have many acres of land which I have turned into suitable habitat for releasing pheasants. I released 150 pheasants in August of 2006 and Logan exceeded all expectations . I will be releasing 200 pheasants this year and can't wait to be out training with Millie and Logan with live game.
LOGAN is used mainly as a working dog but we will continue to enter him into a few shows and hopefully we will have a few small successes along the way !!!
