Grouse is a gentle, laid back & affectionate dog. He has a biddable temperament, but with a very cheeky streak. One of his favourite ways of attracting my attention is to come up behind me & nip me on the bottom!
He is a natural retriever with a soft mouth, and is keen to demonstrate this ability at every available opportunity, often resulting in extremely unusual objects being presented to me!
Grouse has had many good wins in the show ring including Best of Breeds, Group wins, Rabart Superpup Winner 2004, Best Puppy In Show & Reserve Best Puppy In Show. At Gundog Breeds of Scotland Champ Show, (November 2004), judged by breed specialist Gill Roden (Keigame GSPs), he won Best Puppy In Breed & Gill's critique was... "Super head, dark eye, mature & up to size, has elegance & quality, correct forehand, super straight front, lovely bone & feet, depth at elbow, ribs carried well back, short loin, correct topline & tailset, well muscled hindquarters, steady mover with great reach & drive".
Grouse is a top size dog, with a good, coarse coat & correct dentition.
