'Sosondowah' is a great mythical hunter in many Native American tribes' folklore.
His pet name is Fenris (Fenris-Wolf was the son of Loki. So large and powerful the other gods feared him and had him tied to a rock. If he ever broke free it would bring on Ragnarok [the end of the world with a new world to emerge].) He was the eighth and last of Freya's puppies to be born. Due to the birth process his coat was stained green for many weeks so he was known as Greenman. He was always a special puppy to many of us because of this.
A rather sleepy and lazy puppy, he was saving it all for later...at 6 months he is now very boisterous, though he still has his moments of laziness (like crawling on his belly over to the water bowl for a drink!).
As the spitting image of his dad at this age, he looks set to follow in his footsteps as well. At the tender age of 6 months and 2 weeks he beat several older dogs, including his mother, to win Best Of Breed in Malamutes at Cloghran Championship Show in Ireland. The judge (Mr. J. McCartan) commented that he doesn't give Green Stars (championship points) to puppies lightly, but he thinks Fenris is really something special! And so do we!
