Yet again we are very lucky with the two boys we kept from Hermione's (Orlas The Temptress) litter in 2006, they have both turned out to be excellent quality Goldens.

They are quite different in type which is not surprising really as theirs was an outcross mating. Nicholas is paler than Remus and seems to take after his Grandfather Hamish (Twilly Jack The Lad at Orlas). He is a calm and gentle boy, with the same come to bed eyes as his Grandfather Hamish. Hope he takes after him for soundness and quality in his offspring and also the ability to improve on the hips scores with his progeny, as Hamish invariably did.

We are awaiting Nicholas's score from the BVA at the moment but Mr Lewis from Evesham who did the X-ray plates says he should be under 10 total but we are not holding our breath because we know how unpredictable the BVA scoring scheme can be.

Nicholas has just mated his first bitch and he was so quick and proficient you would have thought he was an old hand at it.
We await the arrival of this litter with excitement as the pedigree of the puppies will contain four of our stud dogs, and because two of those dogs were bought in and were virtual outcrosses with our bitches it makes the pedigree, on paper, just right, not too close.

July 2008
Nicholas and Rosies (Bouldtree Cream Delight) babies were born, ten of them in total, one was still born and another died shortly after birth but the other eight survived and have turned out to be an exceptional litter, we await the day when we can bring his daughter home to live with her father. She will be named Jemima (Bouldtree Aspects Of Love for Orlas)

We are hoping that the boys will gel with our home bred bitches and maintain the wonderful soundness and temperament we consider paramount.

Nicholas has a lovely head, with a deep muzzle and beautiful soft expression. His head will be quite strong when finished, yet will maintain the soft expression which we so admire, there will be no harshness there. He is quite slow maturing which again we like in our breeding as they then maintain their beauty right through to old age.

Well, I guess I shall have to eat my words, because for once the BVA got it right and Nicholas's hip scores came back at 4:3, we had Eliza (Orlas Eliza Doolittle) scored at the same time and hers came back 3:5 so we cannot complain this time.
Nicholas's brother Remus (Orlas Remus Lupin) hip scores are 6:9

August 2009
Nicholas produced a lovley litter of nine puppies with Ruby (Rudbeckia Goldquest) owned by Deb Staton.
