CASTANHO WEIMARANERS
Only breeding on a very small scale, it has been some nine years since a litter was registered under the Castanho kennel name.

WELL SOCIALISED
After nine years, the arrival of puppies into the home has been an exciting occasion for the family - so I think we can safely say that the puppies will have been well socialised by the time they leave for their new homes around the end of April!

KENNEL CLUB ACCREDITED BREEDER
I am a Kennel Club Accredited Breeder. The aim of the Kennel Club Accredited Breeder Scheme is to provide a framework to encourage the breeding of healthy, well-adjusted puppies. It lays down a series of requirements that breeders must follow in order to participate in the scheme. For further details on the scheme, please visit www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/203

ABOUT MUM
Eden is one yummy mummy! She is an elegant bitch without compromising on size or bone. She is real treasure too, easy to live with and a wonderful mum to her puppies. By American and Australian Champion Nani N Greydove Milenium Bug (Imp) and out of Gunalt Flirt with Stormdancer, Eden is an Irish Show Champion, a Championship Group Winner, UK stud book number holder and holds multiple national CCs and BOBs under the jurisdiction of the Irish Kennel Club and European body, the FCI. She is certainly a once in a lifetime dog and this is her first litter.

ABOUT DAD
After nearly a three-year search and wait, Beau arrived in 2006 direct from Canada. He is an upstanding elegant male who is well off for bone and who is proving to have universal appeal. He is easy to live with (most of the time!) and is displaying a natural hunting instinct, which is keeping my daughter on her toes! Beau gained his Canadian title with relative ease and at his third show in the UK, just out of the junior classes, Beau gained his UK stud book number - qualifying for Crufts, for life. He is by Am Ch Silversmith Ethan Allen JH NSD BROM, sire of the 2007 Westminster BOB winner and out of Int Ch Waltz Devil in Disguise. This is Beau’s first litter.

PUPPIES ARE ENDORSED
All puppies will be endorsed “progeny not eligible for registration”. In layman’s terms, this means you will not be able to breed and register puppies from your dog or bitch. I endorse my puppies as a precautionary measure as I do not want my puppies ending up in the wrong hands; where they could be bred at an alarming rate and farmed out to the wrong homes without little regard for their welfare. Furthermore, as I breed on a very occasional basis (seven litters in thirty years), and we have spent a lot of time and money titling the dogs, health screening and importing, this is also a protection against my family and kennel name.

HEALTH SCREENING
Both Beau and Eden have been hipscored. At present the breed mean average is thirteen. Eden has a total hipscore of seven and Beau a hipscore of ten – both below the breed average of thirteen. Whilst hip dysplasia is considered a multi-factorial condition, every potential new puppy owner should make himself or herself aware about hip scoring (either via the Kennel Club or British Veterinary Association).

Eden and Beau have also been tested to see if they carry the long hair gene. Both Eden and Beau were found to be negative.

Beau also has a current clear eye certificate.

Being a Kennel Club Accredited Breeder means that both Eden and Beau are permanently identified. This can be by means of tattoo, microchip or DNA profile.

THE RIGHT HOMES
My puppies are reared in the home and it is only fair that these puppies start out as they mean to go on. Therefore I will only let them go to homes where they will live in the home as part of the family unit. Permanent, loving homes only!

PUPPY PACK
All puppies are Kennel Club registered and will come with a five-generation pedigree, a ‘bumph’ of breed information and a CD detailing pictures of their growth from birth, right up until they leave at 8 weeks and that’s not all!

CONTACT
If you have managed to get this far, then things look pretty good! If you are interested then I can be contacted on email or by phone.

Many thanks
