To protect our Bulldog puppies, all registrations will be endorsed. This means that there will be certain restrictions when it comes to any expectations you may have when thinking about breeding from our puppy when it becomes your dog. However there may be certain circumstances or occasions where the endorsements will be lifted. So we would like to encourage a growing relationship with whoever buys our pups so that we can discuss individual requirements as they arise.
The breeding of our pups have been carefully looked into and both Sire & Dam have been shown with success and come from show winning lines. But although we believe that they are quality puppies and have potential we cannot guarantee the 'show potential' of any puppy regardless of what Champions are in his/her parentage. The lovely 8 week old puppy oozing showmanship may not 'make the grade' when he/she is 5months old. Just because a puppy comes from Champion lines it does not mean that he/she will become one too. All puppies sold by us are sold foremost as pets. Puppies change very quickly and what might seem a promising 8 week old may never come to anything at all in the show ring. Although that said we can all dream of breeding/owning a Champion one day!
Although the Bulldog does not have any health screening at this stage there is a health council set up for the well being of the breed. They recommend that the dam is health checked before being bred and we did this with our vets. The Bulldog is not without their health problems & potential owners should be aware of them. Cherry eye, Ectropian and Entropian (Turning in & turning out of the eye lids) can be an issue along with breathing problems. That said most dedicated Bulldog breeders have only the best interest of the breed at heart. The sire (Shay) and dam (Etta) are very active bulldogs and have thankfully been free of any health problems so far.
There are several Breed Clubs in the UK, which can all offer fabulous advice and we currently belong to two of them. These breed people have had great success in the ring & have substantial breed knowledge. You would be wise to checkout their web sites and talk to the secretary’s before purchasing a puppy of this breed just to understand what is involved. Before leaving us, our pups will be microchipped, vet checked, wormed, de-flea’ed and vaccinated (depending on age but at least the first jabs) along with 6 weeks insurance. We will sign would be purchasers up to the fist years membership in the Bulldog of GB club and will be giving £10 for every puppy sold to the Bulldog welfare society.
