Update: 27 April 2017:
Due to unforeseen circumstances we now have a Dog puppy for sale to the right home (see Pic) Enquiries welcome......

UPDATED 20th MARCH
Skye's litter arrived a few days earlier than expected.
Many thanks for all the expressions of interest.
We have six wonderful puppies (2 bitches, 4 dogs) and we are suspending our list of potential new owners at this point because we are already going to have to disappoint some excellent potential homes.
We are working through the list of interested parties, therefore if we already have your details we will be contacting you shortly.

'SKYE' (Fern's Folly) our elegant three year old black & white GSP has been successfully mated to ‘OLLIE’ (Katelands Caisteal A'Torr) who is liver & white. The scan shows at least half a dozen pups on the way which are due 6th March 2017.

Skye is a huge part of our family and comes from both show and working lines. She is a loving, obedient, athletic young lady with endless stamina. When she is not stretched out in front of the fire Skye likes nothing better than going on multi-day hikes with her master in the mountains or long coastal walks & playing on the beach with all the family, as well as scenting out (to the point) pheasant in the field.

Ollie, the sire, is both a working dog & much loved family pet. He has passed on both his good looks and great temperament to his previous offspring, with excellent feedback from the puppy owners. We chose Ollie as sire because he has a wonderful temperament, good hip score and we felt his parentage will compliment Skye's to produce good natured healthy pups - their puppies will not only make ideal pets for the right owners but will also lend themselves well to whatever you want to do with them, whether that is being a working gundog, an agility dog, or showing.

A look at the pedigrees of Ollie and Skye shows an impressive array of both Show and Field Champions in their parentage. The litter is likely to have both liver & white, and black & white pups.

Skye’s pups will be lovingly raised in our family home with our two teenage boys and two cats. They will have regular interaction with family, friends and children of all ages, as well as day to day exposure to everyday household sounds and activities.

The puppies will be KC registered, vet checked, wormed & microchipped before going to their new homes at 8 weeks old.
(Docked with dew claws removed - TBC)
Each puppy will receive -
Pedigree
4 weeks insurance
A puppy pack with useful information about your new puppy.
Some food with feeding guidance and bedding with Skye’s scent for comfort.

German Shorthaired Pointers are a versatile, but demanding breed and are not suited to everyone's lifestyle. They need a lot of exercise, mental stimulation, basic training and socialisation as well as space and fencing. Although they make fantastic pets they do retain a hunting instinct. They want to be with people. They are not a breed of dog to leave at home / in a kennel alone all day. These puppies would be best suited to families/owners with active outdoor lifestyles willing to dedicate plenty of time and love to their new puppy throughout its life.

We really care about finding the right homes for Skye's puppies. Our priority is their ongoing wellbeing & happiness. Therefore prospective homes/owners will be vetted, and we will not sell puppies to households where everyone is at work full time, and they will come with a contract endorsed by the Kennel Club. Preference will be given to people who have experience of GSP's or the HPR gundog group in general.

Expressions of interest are now being taken. If you would like to be considered for one of Skye and Ollie’s puppies and are sure you can provide the appropriate environment please contact us for a chat on ...... You would be welcome, by arrangement to come and meet Skye before the puppies are born. It may also be possible to arrange to meet Ollie who lives at Katelands Kennels. A deposit will only be required when the puppies are born and it is agreed which puppy is yours.
