Storrswood - Litter of Border Terrier Puppies
Storrswood Virtue - first baby to fly the nest
6 weeks old on Monday..
5 weeks old now and very playful and energetic
All puppies have now been sold
**Amazingly Holly presented me with 8 puppies after a sleepless night. Always fair she has had 4 of each, only one needing help to be born into this world. Photos later, thanks everyone for all your good wishes... Holly has discarded her brand new vetbed for the moment to nurse her puppies on the property supplement of the Yorkshire post... presumably "I want to live there Mummy" is what she wants to hear now! **** thank you to everyone who has enquired and I will get back to you in a few weeks when the puppies are ready to be visited. I will continue to update this page so you can all see how the pups are getting on. Thank you
we had a milestone today - 2 weeks old and first dose of Panacur wormer, which will be repeated over the next 2 days, then again, a 3 day programme at 5 and 7 weeks... it was easy peasy, they did not know what was coming....THIS TIME!! all pupies are glossy and well, this many pups in the nest means changing 6 times per day at the moment to keep them nice and fresh! Picture 3 shows them in a huddle to comfort each other after their ordeal... ** 3 week update. All puppies have their eyes open and are much more mobile. They are forming alliances.. practicing their pouncing and growling skills... They have all had their first tastes of mashed up Eukanuba, and quite like it. Of course this is just an introduction to food, but over the next few weeks I will see a massive transformation from helpless little whelps to babies with their own personalities, likes and dislikes. Next week they will be moved from the whelping box in my bedroom to a puppy crate downstairs, from where they will be allowed supervised play in the house. Toy shopping time this afternoon I think. The pups are now taking an interest in the camera... :) Today 22nd Aug the puppies had their first supervised play session, showing them different toys. You can see the natural inquisitiveness of a Border Terrier even at an early age. Conservatory door was wide open and papers placed in front of it. One little girl walked over there and had a wee before returning to her mates!
well my babes are now 4 weeks old, which is half way through the time they will spend with me.. Today I gave them minced beef with their dinner.. what little carnivorous they are.. they loved it... they got covered in dinner so they have had a bath. Shortly I will be trying to teach them to sit, in the meantime they are happy to be kissed and cuddled by my grandchildren.. I hope these babes will go on to enrich the lives of their new mums and dads, just like my other puppies have. Equally I hope that every Mum and Dad chosen will keep in touch. In a couple of weeks I will open up to visitors.. Please, continue to view the updates as I am so proud of my pups.. Even if you are not interested in one of mine, it is amazing to see how they grow. My grandson has accepted that it is not possible to call every puppy Mickey Mouse.... Today, each little babe has behaved like a wolf... poached chicken breast is clearly what they want. My friend at work has an old cocker that is not eating, and she loves him so much, so I am poaching chicken for him too.. fingers crossed for this old boy he is only 13 and is someones pride and joy xx
the pups are now 5 weeks old and very playful. they went to play in the garden yesterday for an hour and were not intimidated by the big outside at all. Today is too cold so they are playing in the conservatory with an increasing number of toys and chews. they are all competing for attention...
So here we are... Six weeks old on Monday - Where has the time gone? Picture 2 shows them relaxing in their bed after a feed, but I think I am going to have to get a bigger bed, or maybe add an extra one. The pups were visited today by the first of the new owners, a lovely little girl who wanted them all, but eventually picked the one who spent most of the time on her lap, and tried to push all the other puppies off who went near her. This is a super family home, and one that comes recommended by a friend of theirs who has a one year old dog from me,, best way to do business! I wish them all the luck in the world, and, subject to vet check at 7 weeks old... he will be their dog.. Seven weeks old now and so very playful. they are lovely puppies. If everyone who has expressed an interest who has not yet got an appointment to view could please contact me I would be most grateful. I have 47 enquiries and only 8 puppies but I am trying to match each puppy with the right owners
8 weeks old and the new pic shows the pups playing together for the very last time. They have a variety of toys, chews of every type you can think of, balls, tug toys, dumbells BUT this is what they prefer to play with. It would appear I have 1 puppy left, late cancellation (thank goodness I don't take deposits) one boy. They are healthy, quality happy little pups. Please contact me if you are genuinely interested. I have added a very special picture today. This is Storrswood Virtue, the first baby to be collected, and this is a defining moment, the first pic from the new proud parents. They love her to bits. I look forward to receiving regular updates from my new puppy families.
