"Enthusiasts" travelled from the U.S.A. and Canada, Australia and New Zealand and many European countries - to where the history of the Golden Retriever first began 200 years ago.
There was an all breeds show at Dingwall and a breed show at Tomich the following day. Other activities included a picnic, walk to the Plodda Falls and Haggis Hurling! On the Saturday evening there was a Buffet Dinner and Ceilagh.
We took our two young girls Shiana and Clementina and they were photographed by Lynn Kipps along with 182 other "Goldens," all sitting quietly with no owners in sight. It was a wonderful sight with the ruins of Guisachan House in the background. The weather could not have been better and everyone who attended had a most enjoyable and memorable time. All thanks and appreciation to the Committee of the Golden Retriever Club of Scotland for their stirling effort and total success.
Since Guisachan we have visited Australia and met up with Carol Stafford, Sec of the G.R. Club of Victoria . We keep in constant touch with Carol and have just heard that she had to say good-bye to her precious ROSIE on 8th October 07 - aged 15 years. (Photo of Rosie at her 15th birthday party last January can be seen on our website):-
