Cosmo takes his first trip to the continent & wins at Antwerp International All Breed Championship Show - 1st Open Dog - graded "Excellent". He then goes on to be awarded the CACIB, CAC & Best Opposite Sex in Breed.
Most importantly, Cosmo is an absolute gentleman, he has a very soft & loving personality & is a wonderful part of the family. As well as this, he is a stunning example of the breed with the correct 12:10 length of back to height ratio which is an important feature of this breed's standard, great fore and hind angulation, a beautiful classic head, correct ears, scissor bite, tight feet and a pale silver coat. He has an exceptional pedigree with many great & influential dogs behind him including Weimaraner of the Year winners, Stud Dog of the Year winners & full champions going back through three generations.
Cosmo had a fantastic start to his career in the ring, giving me a wonderful introduction into the world of showing - he won Best Puppy in Show at his first ever show at just 8 months of age !! He went on to gain his first RDCC at just 14 months of age, which gained him his stud book number & lifetime qualification for Crufts. He also qualified for Weimaraner of the Year 2012/13 (Puppy) & 2013/14 (Adult).
Since 2012 Cosmo has proved himself a consistent winner through all of his young dog classes & topped this all off by winning his way out of Post Graduate classes in early 2015 with 8 wins at Championship shows. He made an excellent transition into Limit classes in 2015 with wins & placings & was moved into Open Dog at the start of the 2016 season.
Cosmo comes from very strong working lines & enjoyed starting his gundog training in 2015 & has attended his first shot over day.
Some of the lovely judges' comments Cosmo has received:
Eindhoven International Champ Show 04/02/17: 1st Open Dog (5) CAC, CACIB & BOS - Very beautiful breed representative of nice size & good type. Excellent head with powerful chest, beautiful neck line & excellent topline with beautiful length. Beautiful, correct tendonous limbs. Good overall picture without exaggeration. Good power & goes well around the ring with ground covering stride.
Cosmo's win in Limit Dog at the WCGB Champ Show 2015:
LD (12) 1 Finch’s Deifstock Dandee Red, My first place was a very honest dog for balance & type. Good head proportions clean over neck & strong front assembly with ample bone, well developed chest, moderate desired tuck-up. Hindquarters strong & well developed & stood on strong hocks. He moved effortlessly & with drive covering the ground with ease to win the class. Presented in lovely muscular condition.
Cosmo's critique from his win in Post Grad Dog at SKC May 2015 -
1 Finch’s Deifstock Dandee Red,
Liked this young dog a lot. Well balanced with correct length/height ratio, moderately angulated and good lay of shoulder, considered for the RCC and should be in the green cards in another 12 months.
Cosmo's win at 3 Counties Champ 2015:
PGD (8,3a) 1 Finch’s Deifstock Dandee Red, 3¼ years, great balanced outline, pleasing masculine head, set into well made forequarters, good through the body with excellent ribs, loin & topline, well set tail carried well, a sound mover on good legs & feet;
Cosmo's critique from his win in Post Grad Dog at WELKS Champ 2015:
PGD (6) 1 Finch’s Deifstock Dandee Red, nice head with lovely dark pigment & good length of ears, good bone & feet, won this class on his balanced movement.
Critique for Cosmo from Judge: Jane Eyeington from his BOB & G2 at Retford CS 22/03/15
Open (3,1) 1. Miss Finch - Deifstock Dandee Red
An upstanding dog of 3 years old. There is no mistaking this dog's gender, he is all dog. When stacked he is a stallion of a dog, nothing overdone, masculine, well balanced and muscular. I was not disappointed when going over him. Found him to have a pleasing head piece with the correct amount of length to the foreface and depth to the flews finished off with a kind and intelligent expression. His clean neck flows well into firm and muscular back. The chest is well let down with a good spring to the ribs. I did particularly like his hind quarters which showed good width and muscle. He was shown to advantage by his handler, on the move they were in unison which showed off his true and ground covering strides. BOB and Group 2
Group 2 critique from the same show: 2 Finch’s Deifstock Dandee Red, this Weimaraner dog just got even better now that he was in the big ring, he moved with enthusiasm & extension, looking every bit fit for function, holding a balanced & muscular outline.
