Dot was bred by Ann and John Shaw, (who had their first Pyr from me in 1999 and now do a wonderful job running Pyrenean Rescue) and joined the Alchazandis gang in 2010. A litter by Dot's aunt Joely,Ch Zalute Zuperxzillarating At Penpriory to my boy Bowzer, Alchazandis Secret Liaison, bred by Noel Melling in 2005, produced one Champion, and others in that litter also did very well in the show ring. Dot's father, Kali is a dog whose construction I believe to be one of the best currently in the English circuit, with a head well enough constructed to satisfy breed purists. At Alchazandis I have always endeavoured to breed large, healthy, long lived dogs, and because I tend not to breed closely related dogs Alchazandis pups within a litter will always show a variety in type but some are notably quite loose in mouth. This has recurred since my first litter in 1994, and for those people who wish to show their dogs it would go against them, despite commonly being seen in the pictures of dogs some decades ago. Therefore, although Dot, in common with many English dogs is far smaller than the Alchazandis dogs, I am hoping that her uniquely diverse pedigree, will provide me with the chance to reduce the number of dogs with loose flews while still retaining great size and the benevolent temperament Alchazandis Pyreneans are known for.
