Rocco is my 'keeper' from Elsa's first litter. He gained his Bronze Good Citizen Dog Award at the tender age of 5 months and qualified for Crufts at his first show at 6 months of age. During the first few months of his show career in 2009 he was awarded Best Puppy In Show at Dumfries & Galloway CS Open Show, Reserve Best Puppy in Show at Border Counties Hound Club and Reserve Best Dog at SKC Championship Show. He has been consistently placed at both Championship and Open show level.

His first achievement of 2010 was to be awarded Reserve Hound Puppy Of The Year for 2009 at Tyne, Wear and Tees Hound Association Hound Of The Year Competition followed by a Reserve Best In Show at Haughton-Le-Spring CS Open Show.

He gained his Stud Book Number in style by winning his first CC with Best Of Breed at Windsor Championship Show followed by an RCC at East Of England Championship Show, an RCC at the Northern Basenji Society Championship Show and RCC at the Houndshow. He then topped the year off by being awarded his Show Certificate of Merit and also finished 6th on the winners league table.

In 2011, Rocco continued to do well and won Reserve Best Dog at the Northern Basenji Society Spring Open Show. In the championship breed classes he won his way into Open Dog at the age of 2 1/2. He excelled in the Good Citizen Dog Stakes, always being placed and winning it three times, at the Hound Association Of Scotland, Leeds and Bournemouth Championship Shows

Rocco is my 'teddy-bear'. He is a very sweet boy and a real clown but also the naughtiest basenji in the world! He and his sister are real partners in crime. He is a real 'people person' who loves his cuddles and is never far from my side.
