We're pleased to be able to confirm Star's DNA results... "CLEAR" for gPRA... and also "CLEAR" for CNM too... and those results, coupled with her good hip; elbow + eye test results ~ and a cracking pedigree (32 x Field Trial Champions to boot..!) means future pups are on the cards, for this very clever young lady..!

"Star" is progressing really well with her working gundog training and came 6th, in a very strong field, in her first ever event; with the Labrador Retriever Club of Wales.

Trainer, Helen Goodwin, reported that she was really pleased with Star's progress and commented "...the potential IS there..." and that Star was really coming along very nicely indeed...!"

This comment was then further supported with Star's next Novice event... when she came a laudable 3rd place -- at Usk Valley Working Gundog Club -- when she finished only 1pt behind the 2nd place (and only 10pts behind the winning dog) an event which was, in fact, won by her 1/2 brother..!)

We then decided to review our training plans for Star; when her next season prompted us to bring forward "future plans" for pups for her...
SGWC holder "Rockledge Wordsmith of Carpenny" RCC was chosen; after reviews of his progeny and pedigree/background as being compatible with our aims/plans for Star and her future offspring too....!

Star's next planned outing before taking a break to have pups, was with the URC ~ she was fit, healthy and raring to go... (in spite of being 5 weeks pregnant and it being quite a warm Summer's day too..!) Star eagerly took part and did really well too... she came 6th with scores of 19/20; 18/20; 17/20; 18/20 and for her last test (slowing up!) 8/20...
However, we were all more than delighted with the progress she's shown and Trainer, Helen also noted she had "much improved" too...!
