Although I have bred GSD's for over 20 years I have always had a great love for whippets and had one as a pet for nearly 16 years. I bought in 2009 a beautiful blue brindle bitch "Buebezi Heaven Sent" known as "Ava" and who was intended for the show ring and then to breed. She had a successful start to her show career being placed nearly every time out even with a very novice mum, but sadly she was involved in a car accident which left her with only a short length of tail so showing was no longer an option. She has the sweetest temperament, typical of the breed and loves all people and other .... (click to read more)

SOME BACKGROUND
I have been breeding dogs for 42yrs and began in the seventies under my old affix of “Marcrest”
I started when I was 12yrs old with a neighbour’s German Shepherd. Then having been given a German Shepherd puppy for my birthday I was hooked!!
I bred my first litter when I was 16 and had my first judging appointment when I was 19. I decided I wanted another breed as well as the Shepherds, so in 1974, acquired my first American Cocker bitch.
I went on to show and breed American’s for many years. I then decided to have a complete change and bought my .... (click to read more) -

Welcome to 'Torbers' a very small and select Whippet show kennel based here in Cornwall.
All my dogs live as spoilt! family members in the house, very much pets first and foremost.
A little bit of my history within the dog world..............
I have been fortunate to have been working with dogs from an early age, firstly with the family Dobermanns who were all shown as well as being accomplished in the Working Trials area of competition.
Over the years I have been lucky enough to have been employed in some of the worlds best show kennels such as Tavey Dobermanns, .... (click to read more) -
Tarward
Mrs Joanne Robinson
Hull
Yorkshire
My first show dog, Pagan, a Dobermann arrived in 1985, closely followed by her half sister, Laura. Then a German Pinscher came in 1989 and my first Brittany, Annie, in 1993, although by no means my last. She was a beautiful show dog but was not suitable for breeding so her half sister, Macy, joined the household in 1996 and has proved to be a wonderful show dog, brood and most of all a superb companion. She is still with us at 16 and shows no sign of slowing down. Ellie, the Whippet arrived to the mad house in 2009 and made 7 dogs at the time. All of which lived in the house and shared the .... Ragstar Whippets
Mrs Rachel C Smith
Leeds
West Yorkshire
I have owned whippets since 1996, when I became a committed convert to the breed!
I bred my first litter in 2000 with a view to keeping and showing a pup and took my Ragstar affix specifically to give to my lovely Kitty who was the chosen one. She proved far too big for the showring, but remains my loyal and devoted companion.
Breeding and showing, albeit on a small scale, whetted my appetite and now that I have more time to spare, I've bred my second litter with an aim to keeping one or two to show...
UPDATE
The second litter produced 10 wonderful pups. I named .... (click to read more) -

Current Health Tests
I was infact born into a Whippet household and was taken to shows when very young, sitting on benches at all breed open shows, next to Standard Dachshunds who barked a lot & frightened me to death!
From around 1974 to 1982 shows took a back seat, as my mother was unable to drive and was not able to get to shows.
Just before Christmas of 1978 a little Red fawn Whippet puppy, Nempnetts Red Kite ~ Zelda, had come to live with us after the loss of Springetts Tracie’s Maid ~ Tatty, the Miniature Poodle. Spring of 1981 came and we as children, asked if Zelda could have puppies, this was to .... (click to read more) -

Wayhead Whippets have been founded on stock bred by my good friend Sally Fuller-Lewis of Elaphine kennels and so the pedigree can be traced back to her foundation stock over 40 years ago. They have always been bred for soundness and excellent gentle temperaments from show lines, which makes them so suited as first class pets.
All of our Whippets live in the home and are very much part of the family. Likewise any puppies that we produce are also home reared to make them well adjusted to continue living as a member of the family. Our aim is to produce good quality sound puppies with .... (click to read more) -
