I was infact born into a Whippet household and was taken to shows when very young, sitting on benches at all breed open shows, next to Standard Dachshunds who barked a lot & frightened me to death!
From around 1974 to 1982 shows took a back seat, as my mother was unable to drive and was not able to get to shows.
Just before Christmas of 1978 a little Red fawn Whippet puppy, Nempnetts Red Kite ~ Zelda, had come to live with us after the loss of Springetts Tracie’s Maid ~ Tatty, the Miniature Poodle. Spring of 1981 came and we as children, asked if Zelda could have puppies, this was to .... (click to read more)

This is a sporting line which has always been bred as closely as possible to the breed standard while maintaining above average performance in the field.
They have been running competitively and shown since 1971, achieving top honours in both fields.
All my whippets are health checked regularly and I think their performance proves they are "fit for function". I like to keep in touch with my puppy clients and expect regular progress reports. Any Moonlake whippet can be returned to me at any stage of its .... (click to read more)

I have owned cross breed lurchers most of my life. Now after experiencing whippets, there is no way back. Truly the most lovable loyal and honourable dog one could own. The biggest problem you will have apart from them stealing your favourite chair, is the fact once you have one, one will not be enough.
I have been in the Dog showing and breeding world for about 30 years on a small scale, mostly with Shetland Sheepdogs.
I have bred and owned my own Champion dog ( Ch.Reubicia Orion) and also bred 2 more Champion dogs (Ch. Reubicia Blue Flame at Ruscombe) who went on to win Best of Breed at Crufts. He then went out to Sweden and became an International Champion.
Reubicia Over The Moon went to Finland and is at 2 years of age a Finnish Champion with 3 CC's and 7 Rcc's.
His niece is soon to join him.
I am also the President of our local branch of the .... (click to read more)

My whippets are foremost beloved pets and also shown we also participate in obedience training and any scurry event at local country fairs. My whippets and Siamese cats are my passion. I owned my first whippet over 20 years ago she was a very petite girl of racing stock that came to live with me at about 8 years of age, she was so wonderful that I was totally hooked on the breed. My daughters participate in Junior Handling and also breed showing.
Occasional home bred well socialised litter, bought up with children, cats and dogs.
We live in West Cumbria on the fringe of the beautiful Lake District. We have had the privilege of sharing our lives with some fabulous dogs over the years, but none as remarkable as Daisy (Montventure Cultured Pearl) our fawn with white trim whippet bitch. In view of this, and after much consideration, we decided to let her have a litter of puppies, and following a great deal of research, we found her perfect stud dog, Vinnie (Gazenorth Graffiti at Falconcrag).

My first show dog, Pagan, a Dobermann arrived in 1985, closely followed by her half sister, Laura. Then a German Pinscher came in 1989 and my first Brittany, Annie, in 1993, although by no means my last. She was a beautiful show dog but was not suitable for breeding so her half sister, Macy, joined the household in 1996 and proved to be a wonderful show dog, brood and most of all a superb companion. Macy left us with wonderful memories and a broken heart on the 4th September 13 but her legacy lives on in Hazel, her great granddaughter and a great character. Ellie, the Whippet arrived to the .... I've had Whippets since the mid-70's. Whilst living in Belgium I had the affix 'Briary'. I made up 5 Int. Ned. Germ. Belg. champions, 3 home bred. On returning to live in England, 6 years ago, I was not allowed to keep my affix, it became 'Penbriar'.
I only breed a litter when I want to keep one myself from a certain bitch. Health & good characters are most important. Bitches are PRA/ Cataract and heart tested before mating.
All puppies are born and raised in the house, though they do also have a very comfortable puppy house & run outside.
I share my house with 5 Whippets and a .... (click to read more)
Welcome to 'Torbers' a very small and select Whippet show kennel based here in Cornwall.
All my dogs live as spoilt! family members in the house, very much pets first and foremost.
A little bit of my history within the dog world..............
I have been fortunate to have been working with dogs from a very early age, firstly with the family Dobermanns who were all shown also they were very accomplished in the Working Trials area of competition. This always went against the old adage "working dogs and show dogs don't do well out of their respective fields of .... (click to read more)

We both grew up with horses and dogs and I used to compete in cross country until an injury finally forced me to give up riding. We started married life with our beloved lurchers and used to show and race them, competing at Chatsworth several times and even winning Best in Show. When Teagle and Thyme finally passed away we felt that we could not be without the "hound temperament" and as Thyme had been half whippet it made sense to have a whippet join our family and so we have now had whippets in our life and on our sofas since 2000.
