Huntinghill Whippets - A small kennel aiming for health, soundness, construction & good temperament. Pets first, Showdogs second!
We do not breed very many litters and carefully consider our lines before embarking on a mating. It is very important to us to breed with the above aims in mind & only if we want to keep a puppy ourselves.
Potential puppy owners will be asked many questions from us & we expect many questions back. Any puppies sold will be supplied with full documentation ie KC, feeding charts, pedigree & general information and an agreement between both parties that should an .... (click to read more)
I have had dogs for 50 years, since childhood, and have owned a border collie, GSD, lurchers, shih tzu, miniature pinscher and papillon.
I now own Deerhounds, Whippets, Lurchers and Miniature Poodles. Our dogs live with us in our home as members of our family - we do not have kennels - with our cats and other animals.
I have had success in the showring with our Deerhounds, firstly with Demerlay Dorian Grey at Celticmoon who gained one Challenge Certificate, two Reserve Challenge Certificates and one Reserve Best of Breed at Champion Shows before retiring and more recently with .... (click to read more)

This is a sporting line which has always been bred as closely as possible to the breed standard while maintaining above average performance in the field.
They have been running competitively and shown since 1971, achieving top honours in both fields.
All my whippets are health checked regularly and I think their performance proves they are "fit for function". I like to keep in touch with my puppy clients and expect regular progress reports. Any Moonlake whippet can be returned to me at any stage of its .... (click to read more)

I was infact born into a Whippet household and was taken to shows when very young, sitting on benches at all breed open shows, next to Standard Dachshunds who barked a lot & frightened me to death!
From around 1974 to 1982 shows took a back seat, as my mother was unable to drive and was not able to get to shows.
Just before Christmas of 1978 a little Red fawn Whippet puppy, Nempnetts Red Kite ~ Zelda, had come to live with us after the loss of Springetts Tracie’s Maid ~ Tatty, the Miniature Poodle. Spring of 1981 came and we as children, asked if Zelda could have puppies, this was to .... (click to read more)

Our kennel affix is Lewcher and we have been showing dogs for many years. We started showing our first whippet about 20 years ago. Over those years we have had a total of 7 litters, We lost our Maiden Silkstone bitch, Fern (Silkstone Ocean Sunset) Christmas 2006 at the age of 11. She was a very successful bitch in the show ring winning her stud book number at Crufts at the age of 2 and won reserve top dog of East Anglia at their Supermatch. We kept one of her daughters, Bailey (Lewcher Royal Sunset) and have had a very successful time with her gaining her Junior Warrant award. She has won .... (click to read more)

My Whippets are bred for quality and temperament. They are all house reared and have contact with other dogs and children and are therefore very domesticated. They all have their dew claws removed and are all wormed and Kennel Club registered. Mother can be seen. I am located right on the Wiltshire/Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire Borders, about 10 miles from Swindon. Please contact me if you require any further information.

I have had Whippets since 2000 and bred my first litter in 2003. I currently have three generations from my first Bitch, Misty who sadly is no longer with us.
All my girls have been in the show ring. We all live in Harwich Essex, by the seaside.

We both grew up with horses and dogs and I used to compete in cross country until an injury finally forced me to give up riding. We started married life with our beloved lurchers and used to show and race them, competing at Chatsworth several times and even winning Best in Show. When Teagle and Thyme finally passed away we felt that we could not be without the "hound temperament" and as Thyme had been half whippet it made sense to have a whippet join our family and so we have now had whippets in our life and on our sofas since 2000.
Our dogs live within our home as part of the family .... (click to read more)

We have owned whippets for over 40 years now but only started showing in 1988. We have had a few whippets during this period but are now down to only 6. Four of these are pictured above.
Two of Clovers litter, Bramble and Willow, stayed with us and now Willow has had a litter of her own on 13.2.2011. (See litter Pages). One of her sons, Rowan, has stayed with us. She had a second litter on 20.5.2012 and a little girl, Teazel, has joined the family
We have enjoyed having whippets share a big part in our family life since 1980. They are loving, lively, small but sporty and thrive on being an important part of your every day routine.

Fancy (Derohan Beyond Desire) is my second whippet, I also have Florence, a non pedigree girl and she needed a friend so along came Fancy. Her breeder Caroline Osborne introduced us to the world of showing and that is where it all started. Despite my lack of showing experience Fancy has done well showing, winning at Open and Championship level and qualifying for Crufts 3 years in a row. Both girls are pets and live in the house with me, hogging the sofa and enjoy a Sunday lie in in bed!
I have just registered Florancy as my Kennel Name.
The Linalkins are a very small group of much loved whippets who allow Louise and myself to share their bungalow and garden. We pride ourselves in owning, and occasionally breeding whippets that are capable of holding their own in the show ring, are a pleasure to live with, being sound physically and mentally, and are able to do a day's work if given the opportunity. All the Linalkins hold at least the bronze KC Good Citizen's award. Occasionally we have had the opportunity to let them race, a pastime very much enjoyed by both whippets and humans.

I have been in the Dog showing and breeding world for about 30 years on a small scale, mostly with Shetland Sheepdogs.
I have bred and owned my own Champion dog ( Ch.Reubicia Orion) and also bred 2 more Champion dogs (Ch. Reubicia Blue Flame at Ruscombe) who went on to win Best of Breed at Crufts. He then went out to Sweden and became an International Champion.
Reubicia Over The Moon went to Finland and is at 2 years of age a Finnish Champion with 3 CC's and 7 Rcc's.
His niece is soon to join him.
I am also the President of our local branch of the .... (click to read more)
I co-own the Speymalt Kennel with my Father. We are based in the North East of Scotland, along the stunning Moray Firth coast line. Our dogs are very much pets first and show dogs seconds. They are loving members of our family. All our dogs have very successful show careers, something that we have worked hard to achieve and are very proud of.

The Soethond family group is currently made up of 6 Whippets, Freehamlet Perfick Priam (Tate) and Reubicia Desiderata (Dizzy), and their 4 retained offspring, Soethond's Romeo (Slipper), Soethond's Othello(Shredders), Soethond's As You Like It(Jago), and Soethond's Juliette (Heather).
Dizzy in no longer shown as she simply does not enjoy showing, but the rest all enjoy 'party days', and though they have only been lightly shown in 2013, they have been successful at many of the shows they have attended.
At Soethond it's not all about the showing though, and the rest of the time the .... (click to read more)
