I have had dogs for 50 years, since childhood, and have owned a border collie, GSD, lurchers, shih tzu, miniature pinscher and papillon.

I now own Deerhounds, Whippets, Lurchers and Miniature Poodles. Our dogs live with us in our home as members of our family - we do not have kennels - with our cats and other animals.

I have had success in the showring with our Deerhounds, firstly with Demerlay Dorian Grey at Celticmoon who gained one Challenge Certificate, two Reserve Challenge Certificates and one Reserve Best of Breed at Champion Shows before retiring and more recently with .... (click to read more)

This is a sporting line which has always been bred as closely as possible to the breed standard while maintaining above average performance in the field.
They have been running competitively and shown since 1971, achieving top honours in both fields.
All my whippets are health checked regularly and I think their performance proves they are "fit for function". I like to keep in touch with my puppy clients and expect regular progress reports. Any Moonlake whippet can be returned to me at any stage of its .... (click to read more)

Huntinghill Whippets - A small kennel aiming for health, soundness, construction & good temperament. Pets first, Showdogs second!
We do not breed very many litters and carefully consider our lines before embarking on a mating. It is very important to us to breed with the above aims in mind & only if we want to keep a puppy ourselves.
Potential puppy owners will be asked many questions from us & we expect many questions back. Any puppies sold will be supplied with full documentation ie KC, feeding charts, pedigree & general information and an agreement between both parties that should an .... (click to read more)

"Breeding from the best to produce the best".

Establishing the Willingwisp kennel was not built on a whim. I spent hours researching many bloodlines, studying pedigrees and following the progress of show dogs that had caught my eye. I managed to secure the best foundation bitches available from some of the top kennels in the country and the icing on the cake was my fabulous stud dog "Oakbark Moment Of Impact At Willingwisp". I was infact born into a Whippet household and was taken to shows when very young, sitting on benches at all breed open shows, next to Standard Dachshunds who barked a lot & frightened me to death!
From around 1974 to 1982 shows took a back seat, as my mother was unable to drive and was not able to get to shows.
Just before Christmas of 1978 a little Red fawn Whippet puppy, Nempnetts Red Kite ~ Zelda, had come to live with us after the loss of Springetts Tracie’s Maid ~ Tatty, the Miniature Poodle. Spring of 1981 came and we as children, asked if Zelda could have puppies, this was to .... (click to read more)

  • Wayhead

    Nr Ely

Wayhead Whippets have been founded on stock bred by my good friend Sally Fuller-Lewis of Elaphine kennels and so the pedigree can be traced back to her foundation stock over 40 years ago. They have always been bred for soundness and excellent gentle temperaments from show lines, which makes them so suited as first class pets.
All of our Whippets live in the home and are very much part of the family. Likewise any puppies that we produce are also home reared to make them well adjusted to continue living as a member of the family. Our aim is to produce good quality sound puppies with .... (click to read more)

I have had whippets or lurchers since I was a child. My mother bred a few litters under the Twiggen affix in the 1970s (including the very good coursing bitch Twiggen Waterwitch, and her equally accomplished brother T Watergate). I am currently owned by three whippets: my old man Diver (Moonlake Walks On Water) and his great-niece Tealeaf (M Mercedes) have recently been joined by Tealeaf's son Trilby (Tit for Tat). I believe strongly that the perfect whippet should not only look good, but should be demonstrably fit for function, and Tealeaf has more than fulfilled that brief. Despite being .... LATEST NEWS : We are so looking forward to seeing our first Border Terriers growing up.

Very sadly we have just lost the last of our German Shepherds to the scourge of cancer, she was 10 years old and the sweetest dog.

Although I have bred GSD's for over 20 years I have always had a great love for whippets and had one as a pet for nearly 16 years. I bought in 2009 a beautiful blue brindle bitch "Buebezi Heaven Sent" known as "Ava" and who was intended for the show ring and then to breed. She had a successful start to her show career being placed nearly every time out even with .... (click to read more)

This is a small, select show kennel of Greyhounds, Whippets and Boston Terriers.
Although I have had dogs all of my life and been involved in showing since I was a teenager, I have owned, shown and bred Greyhounds, Whippets and Bostons for over twenty years. At one time I was the only Boston exhibitor on the local circuit and so decided to concentrate on the Hounds (my favourite group). In between I found time to campaign my Hungarian Kuvasz !
In late 2008, Clare Boggia and I imported from Sweden a very handsome Greyhound male pup, "EPIC GENEROUS". We are delighted with .... (click to read more)

  • Lee Durkan

I have owned cross breed lurchers most of my life. Now after experiencing whippets, there is no way back. Truly the most lovable loyal and honourable dog one could own. The biggest problem you will have apart from them stealing your favourite chair, is the fact once you have one, one will not be enough.

I have owned whippets all my life as indeed my parents owned, bred & showed whippets before I was even born, so I grew up surrounded by this lovely breed. I show my whippets at all levels although first & foremost they are family pets & live in the house with us. I only breed when I want to carry on the next generation & always breed for sound health, good breed type & excellent temperament.

We are a small show-kennel based in Aberdeeshire. Our dogs live in our home and are very much part of the family. We will only occasionally breed a litter when we want a puppy for ourselves. Our aim is to breed healthy Whippets with a sound temperament whilst keeping conformation & breed type a priority. Our Whippets are, or have been, actively campaigned at Championship Show level. They are pets first and show-dogs second. My introduction into showing and this beautiful breed was Tara - Fire Fashion Dancer (d.o.b. 09/04/2003). I had no idea she was from show lines when I got her as a pet. .... (click to read more)

Fancy (Derohan Beyond Desire) is my second whippet, I also have Florence, a non pedigree girl and she needed a friend so along came Fancy. Her breeder Caroline Osborne introduced us to the world of showing and that is where it all started. Despite my lack of showing experience Fancy has done well showing, winning at Open and Championship level and qualifying for Crufts 3 years in a row. Both girls are pets and live in the house with me, hogging the sofa and enjoy a Sunday lie in in bed!
I have just registered Florancy as my Kennel Name.
