I was infact born into a Whippet household and was taken to shows when very young, sitting on benches at all breed open shows, next to Standard Dachshunds who barked a lot & frightened me to death!
From around 1974 to 1982 shows took a back seat, as my mother was unable to drive and was not able to get to shows.
Just before Christmas of 1978 a little Red fawn Whippet puppy, Nempnetts Red Kite ~ Zelda, had come to live with us after the loss of Springetts Tracie’s Maid ~ Tatty, the Miniature Poodle. Spring of 1981 came and we as children, asked if Zelda could have puppies, this was to .... (click to read more) -

Current Health Tests
Chelynnah Whippets is based in Poole, Dorset. Our pups are home raised and we breed rarely - only when wanting a pup for ourselves.
Health and temperament are very important to us in our breeding choices, as we know the most important job of any dog is to be a cherished family pet. Anything else they may do (ie show or work) is a bonus. All of our dogs live in the home with us as much loved members of the family, and we look for homes with a similar ethos.
We are Members of the Kennel Club Assured Breeder Scheme. -

They have been running competitively and shown since 1971, achieving top honours in both fields.
All my whippets are health checked regularly and I think their performance proves they are "fit for function". I like to keep in touch with my puppy clients and expect regular progress reports. Any Moonlake whippet can be returned to me at any stage of its .... (click to read more) -

Kent
Our dogs live harmoniously as family pets, also enjoying the show ring and the joy of running free in our paddocks. We do not breed frequently, but when we do it is done with great care and attention to detail, selecting only stud dogs with the best of temperaments, health and of course good looks. We have had Whippets for over 20 years, and think they make wonderfully versatile and loving companions.

Penbriar Whippets
Mrs Sue Gillespie
Bromyard
Herefordshire
I've had Whippets since the mid-70's. Whilst living in Belgium I had the affix 'Briary'. I made up 5 Int. Ned. Germ. Belg. champions, 3 home bred. On returning to live in England, 6 years ago, I was not allowed to keep my affix, it became 'Penbriar'.
I only breed a litter when I want to keep one myself from a certain bitch. Health & good characters are most important. Bitches are PRA/ Cataract tested before mating.
All puppies are born and raised in the house, though they do also have a very comfortable puppy house & run outside.
I share my house with 5 Whippets and a Lurcher.
