I was infact born into a Whippet household and was taken to shows when very young, sitting on benches at all breed open shows, next to Standard Dachshunds who barked a lot & frightened me to death!
From around 1974 to 1982 shows took a back seat, as my mother was unable to drive and was not able to get to shows.
Just before Christmas of 1978 a little Red fawn Whippet puppy, Nempnetts Red Kite ~ Zelda, had come to live with us after the loss of Springetts Tracie’s Maid ~ Tatty, the Miniature Poodle. Spring of 1981 came and we as children, asked if Zelda could have puppies, this was to .... (click to read more)

Potential puppy owners will be asked many questions from us & we expect many questions back. Any puppies sold will be supplied with full documentation ie KC, feeding charts, pedigree & general information and an agreement between both parties that should an .... (click to read more)

"Breeding from the best to produce the best".
Establishing the Willingwisp kennel was not built on a whim. I spent hours researching many bloodlines, studying pedigrees and following the progress of show dogs that had caught my eye. I managed to secure the best foundation bitches available from some of the top kennels in the country and the icing on the cake was my fabulous stud dog "Oakbark Moment Of Impact At Willingwisp". TOBY IS OUR DOGS UK TOP WHIPPET SIRE 2009 & DOG WORLD UK TOP WHIPPET-SIRE 2010

I am consistently placed at Championship and Open shows. I always use top quality stud dogs to further improve my breeding. My dogs are my family, they are run and are fit for purpose
Mrs Patricia Bird
Our dogs live harmoniously as family pets, also enjoying the show ring and the joy of running free in our paddocks. We do not breed frequently, but when we do it is done with great care and attention to detail, selecting only stud dogs with the best of temperaments, health and of course good looks. We have had Whippets for over 20 years, and think they make wonderfully versatile and loving companions.

The first Beksam puppies were born in the 1960s when my parents, Joy and Arthur Ford bred their first litter of Boston Terriers. In the early 1970s we bought our first Bearded Collie and I went in to partnership with my parents. We bred, showed and loved our Beardies for many years. In fact, in 2004 we lost our last girl after 35 years of happy Beardie ownership.
We bought our first Whippet in 1981 and I was hooked. The Whippets are still my first love. They share our home and hearts with three elderly Miniature Schnauzers (who still act like naughty children).

My first show dog, Pagan, a Dobermann arrived in 1985, closely followed by her half sister, Laura. Then a German Pinscher came in 1989 and my first Brittany, Annie, in 1993, although by no means my last. She was a beautiful show dog but was not suitable for breeding so her half sister, Macy, joined the household in 1996 and proved to be a wonderful show dog, brood and most of all a superb companion. Macy left us with wonderful memories and a broken heart on the 4th September 13 but her legacy lives on in Hazel, her great granddaughter and a great character. Ellie, the Whippet arrived to the ....
