We have had Shih Tzu for more than 30 years, although no longer breed. We have been breeding and showing CAZHMIR BLACK PUGS for only a few years, but our aim is to produce sound, healthy stock of the correct size with large, round dark eyes that do not protrude, very black single coats, good bone and excellent temperament. Our dogs all live in the house with us and are very much part of our everyday lives. We only have one or two litters a year that are reared with the utmost care, consideration, and attention to detail,in our home - by the AGA.
All our Pugs are screened for Hemivertebrae .... (click to read more)

We are based in Essex and are owners of bullmastiffs and shih tzus. I have had over ten years experience with the bullmastiff breed and have recently introduced the shih tzus into the family. All our dogs are use to a very busy household and have outstanding temperaments as a result. I have bred a recent litter with our Bonnie in order to continue her lines and she has produced quality pups which we will hopefully start showing with.

I have a life long interest in the world of dogs and have bred and shown several breeds during my life. My favourite breed is the Shih Tzu and all my dogs live in the home as pets and are much loved members of the family. I have the interests of the Shih Tzu breed at heart, believing in and following the ethical guidelines of the Shih Tzu Club. I may occasionally have puppies available to knowledgeable homes.

I hope you enjoy this small showcase of my dogs.

Our dogs live with us and our small daughter in a family environment and residential setting. They are fed the best and want for nothing. They enjoy walks in the fields close to our home and have the company of each other, our huge cats and bomb proof chickens. They enjoy having a stay at home mum and the attention of any one calling that doesnt mind a hairy greeting.

They are of course from excellent pedigree lines and health tested parents as they are them selves if they are to have a litter.

Our puppies are reared in the home, socialised and trained to paper, wormed .... (click to read more)

It all started back in 1977, when my husband George and I were trying for a family. We had a few problems along the way, and the medical staff advised us/me to take up a hobby!  And from that day forward, I took an interest in showing dogs.

My first dog was called 'Skippy', a grey/white male Shih Tzu from the “Saleden” kennel in Carlisle. He did okay at open shows, but that was it -  I was hooked on dog showing!

Christine Solesby “Mingrovia” affix had a litter of puppies which we went to look at, and along came 'Tammy' (Champion Mingrovia Elite Petite Of Tameron), a .... (click to read more)

  • Katonier

    Barrow-In-Furness

We have dogs for the show ring
and pets for the fun thing!

Tony and Karen [Katonier Shih Tzu’s] are relatively new to the Showing World [5 years and counting..], and have the perfect blend of enthusiasm, passion and a willingness to pick up pearls of wisdom from those who have been showing for generations.

We belong to the niche of dog lovers that believe our Shih Tzu’s are pets first and show dogs second. We love showing and are hugely competitive, but it would all be for nothing if we couldn’t share the affection, fun and companionship of our Katonier Shih Tzu’s.

We became involved with Keeshond's in the early 70s and Shih tzus a few years later .....The first Japanese Chin only arrived in '05 , having always admiring the breed . We have been fortunate in making up numerous Champions in Keeshonds (including Top Winning bitch ever , in the breed Ch.Rossvale Gone With the Wind ) and Shih Tzus and both of our Chins gained their titles too. We dont have many litters but we aim to breed the traditional type of shih tzu and only usually have a Keeshond litter when we want one for ourselves , about every 3 to 4 years .
We both judge Keeshond's and Shih .... (click to read more)
