Bought my first Ridgeback in 1981 while living in South Africa - SHANDY was a wonderful companion. Born in 1991, WHISKY was my African Gentleman & an excellent foundation dog; then I was blessed with a perfect mate in RYE from the JANAK kennel. From our first litter in 1994, BEAUJOLAIS was a great show dog, sire of champions and my soul mate. We have enjoyed much success in the showring; essentially, our dogs are happy pack members who have taught us the importance of leadership & understanding. Thomas started showing Rye @ CRUFTS when he was only 4, but he needed a smaller dog of his own; .... (click to read more)

Hi, My name is Karen Thompson. I live in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England with my husband Steve and our four children. I have shared my life with dogs since I was a child owning quite a few different breeds. We decided on a Rhodesian Ridgeback as the breed to add to our family in 2010. We were won over by the breed characteristics and have never looked back. They are an intelligent, mischievous, loyal, brave, dignified and sensitive breed and make a cherished family member.
Nala is my first RR and came to live with us at 8 weeks old she stole our hearts from the word go! She has .... (click to read more)

We have owned and shown Rhodesian Ridgebacks since 1977 and been members of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Great Britain for 30 years and the Southern Rhodesian Ridgeback Assn. for over 10 years. We are also * KENNEL CLUB ACCREDITED BREEDERS*, and have achieved all three accolades. My dogs live in the house and are not kennelled. Although they have had some great successes in the showring, both here and abroad, they are firstly treasured companions. This is not a commercial kennel and litters are only bred occasionally when I want a puppy for myself, all are hip and elbow scored, and .... (click to read more)

We bought our first Ridgeback back in 1982, when based full
time in the UK Although at the time we only wanted a family
companion, we soon became addicted to the breed and our
Ridgeback family increased. Since we moved to Ireland in 2000 I
have started successfully showing our family of Ridgebacks,
who now all enjoy the beauty and space of rural Co Kilkenny. We
breed our bitches occasionally and breed primarily for
temperament and type, by choosing quality dogs to make
beautiful loyal pets or show dogs. We are always looking to stay
as close to the breed .... (click to read more)

My family moved to South Africa when I was a child and that is where we were first introduced to this stunning breed. Forty odd years later and I still would have nothing else. My pack consists of Milo 8 years, Kara 3 years and Jazzie who is 2. They are always pet dogs first!

When I was lucky enough to find Kara I decided to dabble in a bit of showing and have never looked back! I now show Kara and Jazzie and we love it and they have both qualified for Crufts every year! However, they are still my gorgeous pet dogs and have been brought up in a normal family household and are a .... (click to read more)

My partner and I have a home based business, I work part time as a nurse. We live on the scenic Isle of Anglesey with our beautiful Ridgeback bitch Nyah..which aptly means'chosen one'. I could not have wished for a more beautiful dog, for her excellent temperament and perfect Ridgeback traits and looks.

In 2002 we purchased our first Rhodesian Ridgeback, Jarhiba Gyasi from the Jarhiba Kennels. From the moment we brought her home she settled into our family as though she had always been there. She shares our love of horses, which also are included in our lives.

We wanted Gyasi to have a doggy companion so in late 2004 after carefull planning we mated her to Champion Gunthwaite ActionMan from the renouned Gunthwaite kennels. From this litter we kept Afreya. Mother and daughter do everything together and are constant companions for our son and his friends.

I breed ridgebacks as a hobby. I do it to continue the line and with each pairing hope to produce better dogs epitomising the standard.

I breed dogs for great temperament and stamina, hoping that any dog with the Ojore Kennel name will find its place within a family that share a love of outdoor pursuits.

I have two bitches, mother Nala & daughter, Maya 2 yrs. Both dogs have been shown in the ring, but being self employed and working most weekends restrict my active participation in showing.
