Bought my first Ridgeback in 1981 while living in South Africa: SHANDY was a wonderful companion & ambassador. Born in 1991, WHISKY was my African Gentleman & an excellent foundation dog. While Whisky was in quarantine in 1993, I sought a companion for him, but was blessed to find a perfect mate in RYE from the JANAK kennel. From our first litter in 1994, BEAUJOLAIS was a great show dog, sire of champions and my soulmate. We have enjoyed much success in the showring; essentially, our dogs are happy pack members who have taught us all the importance of leadership & understanding. Thomas .... (click to read more)

We moved to the UK from Phoenix, Arizona in March 2011, where we enjoyed many happy and successful years competing in conformation, lure coursing and agility - between the pack they have 13 competition titles to their names. Rio finished 2010 ranked as America's No. 4 Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch.
Since arriving to my native England we have continued to show Rio, who gained her UK Championship within a limited number of shows. .... (click to read more) -

VELDTKAMMER STRIVING FOR EXCELLENCE. KENNEL CLUB ASSURED BREEDERS. I have 30 years experience with dogs and have been very successfull with the Rhodesian Ridgebacks, I have puppies available occasionally, I breed when I want to keep something for myself for my line to continue. I am not breeding dogs for financial gain, it is my hobby, and the funds from the puppies helps me to support my rather expensive hobby of showing dogs.
All my puppies have an endorsement placed on them for breeding, which means they can not be bred from by their new owners, this is because I do not want .... (click to read more) -

We acquired our first Rhodesian Ridgeback, Oka, in 2002 and it wasn't long before we became totally hooked on the breed. We only showed her lightly due to the commitments of our young family. She has an outstanding temperament and is wonderful with our children.
In 2004 we purchased our second Ridgeback, Kojo, with a serious view to competing in the show ring, and he has met all our expectations. He won Best in Show at the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Great Britain Open Show from over 100 entries in June 2006. This win followed a Best in Show win at Witney & District Open Show and final .... The first litter of 12 back in July 2005 and my second litter of 13 in February 2007.
Although most of the pups bred are showable my main concern as a ridgeback owner is to ensure all the pups born were well socialised with children, adults and other dogs.
All my ridgebacks are kept in the house amongst our family environment to ensure a good sociable .... (click to read more) -
