Hello! My name is Kim Hodge. I live in Derbyshire, England with my beautiful pack of Rhodesian Ridgebacks, who are delightful, well socialized hounds. I have owned Ridgebacks since 2004 and in that time have bred two healthy happy litters.

We first encountered Ridgebacks in 1989 during a trip to South Africa but, for all sorts of reasons waited 20 years before 'switching' to this wonderful breed. My wife and I are both professionals with busy working lives so needless to say we adore the companionship, loyalty and endless hours of fun that we get from our pair who have recently produced a beautiful litter. The dam is absolutely adorable - demure yet fiercely protective. The big guy on the other hand is so laid back that he can sleep standing up - until, that is, he sees a rabbit and then all hell breaks loose! Wish we hadn't .... (click to read more)

We acquired our first Rhodesian Ridgeback, Oka, in 2002 and it wasn't long before we became totally hooked on the breed. We only showed her lightly due to the commitments of our young family. She has an outstanding temperament and is wonderful with our children.

In 2004 we purchased our second Ridgeback, Kojo, with a serious view to competing in the show ring, and he has met all our expectations. He won Best in Show at the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Great Britain Open Show from over 100 entries in June 2006. This win followed a Best in Show win at Witney & District Open Show and final .... I breed ridgebacks as a hobby. I do it to continue the line and with each pairing hope to produce better dogs epitomising the standard.

I breed dogs for great temperament and stamina, hoping that any dog with the Ojore Kennel name will find its place within a family that share a love of outdoor pursuits.

I have two bitches, mother Nala & daughter, Maya 2 yrs. Both dogs have been shown in the ring, but being self employed and working most weekends restrict my active participation in showing.

I have been interested in ridgebacks as long as I can remember and before purchasing my first ridgeback back in 1997 I read every book possible.Since having Kia my first ridgeback I have successfully bred two litters from her. The first litter of 12 back in July 2005 and my second litter of 13 in February 2007.

Although most of the pups bred are showable my main concern as a ridgeback owner is to ensure all the pups born were well socialised with children, adults and other dogs.

All my ridgebacks are kept in the house amongst our family environment to ensure a good sociable .... (click to read more)
