We acquired our first Rhodesian Ridgeback, Oka, in 2002 and it wasn't long before we became totally hooked on the breed. We only showed her lightly due to the commitments of our young family. She has an outstanding temperament and is wonderful with our children.

In 2004 we purchased our second Ridgeback, Kojo, with a serious view to competing in the show ring, and he has met all our expectations. He won Best in Show at the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Great Britain Open Show from over 100 entries in June 2006. This win followed a Best in Show win at Witney & District Open Show and final .... We have had Rhodesian Ridgebacks since 1991 and have never been without at least 2 Ridgebacks at any one time. . We love their characters and individual personalities and their typical Ridgeback traits. We couldn't imagine our lives without Ridgebacks.

All our Ridgebacks are well socialised with people, children and the various livestock that live on our smallholding with us. They love running through the woods and playing who can catch the deer or hare!

We were first owned by Rhodesian Ridgebacks in 1986; we bought our 2nd in 1987 and started showing him at open shows. We spent longer researching the breed before buying our 3rd who became our foundation bitch; Champion Sansilver Pumalanga (Pet name Abby).
We are PROUD to be able to say we have NEVER culled a healthy puppy because of its ridge (or lack of one) even when it was recommended to in the breed. Our first litter contained a ridgeless boy who lived until he was 14. We keep a list of people looking for ridgeless puppies.
Four generations of our dogs live happily together in .... (click to read more)

I have 30 years experience with dogs and have been very successful with the Rhodesian Ridgebacks, I have puppies available occasionally, I breed when I want to keep something for myself for my line to continue. I am not breeding dogs for financial gain, it is my hobby, and the funds from the puppies helps me to support my rather expensive hobby of showing dogs.

Bought my first Ridgeback in 1981 while living in South Africa - SHANDY was a wonderful companion. Born in 1991, WHISKY was my African Gentleman & an excellent foundation dog; then I was blessed with a perfect mate in RYE from the JANAK kennel. From our first litter in 1994, BEAUJOLAIS was a great show dog, sire of champions and my soul mate. We have enjoyed much success in the showring; essentially, our dogs are happy pack members who have taught us the importance of leadership & understanding. Thomas started showing Rye @ CRUFTS when he was only 4, but he needed a smaller dog of his own; .... (click to read more)

I was born and brought up in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and my parents bought our first ridgeback back in 1965. In those days everyone we knew had dogs and most owned at least one ridgeback. Our first ridgeback was astonishingly loyal and was almost like a nanny to me as a child. But she was also a very effective guard-dog, something which was very comforting, living on a remote farm in Mashonaland.

As an adult, after moving to England in my early twenties, I continued to own the breed. It has always felt right to me that our dogs should have one litter of puppies each and so we have .... (click to read more)

My husband John is a self confessed lover of Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Two years ago as a surprise Christmas present I and a friend picked her out of a loving home and when John went to see her, his face was just amazing. we decided to call her Nala (means gift in Afrikaans, and their relationship is great. Apart from when she fell pregnant, she ignored John and became my dog.

My love of the breed started more than 15 years ago having met my first Ridgeback on holiday in Cornwall. I finally acquired my first ridgeback (Rubi) in 2003 and what an addition she was! Since then, I have been totally hooked on the breed. I have been a member of the Southern Rhodesian Ridgeback Association and The Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Great Britain for approximately 10 years.

My girls live in the house with me and are my most most treasured companions. They have both been shown at Championship level, with great success. Both have gained their Kennel Club Stud Book Number. I .... (click to read more)
