Hello! My name is Kim Hodge. I live in Derbyshire, England with my beautiful pack of Rhodesian Ridgebacks, who are delightful, well socialized hounds. I have owned Ridgebacks since 2004 and in that time have bred two healthy happy litters.

Between them my pack have 15 competition titles to their names. Rio finished 2012 as the UK's Top Rhodesian Ridgeback, 2011 as the UK's joint Top Rhodesian Ridgeback and finished 2010 ranked as America's No. 4 Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch.

We moved home to the UK from Phoenix, Arizona, USA in March 2011, where we enjoyed many happy and .... (click to read more)

Bought my first Ridgeback in 1981 while living in South Africa: SHANDY was a wonderful companion & ambassador. Born in 1991, WHISKY was my African Gentleman & an excellent foundation dog. While Whisky was in quarantine in 1993, I sought a companion for him, but was blessed to find a perfect mate in RYE from the JANAK kennel. From our first litter in 1994, BEAUJOLAIS was a great show dog, sire of champions and my soulmate. We have enjoyed much success in the showring; essentially, our dogs are happy pack members who have taught us all the importance of leadership & understanding. Thomas .... (click to read more)

My family moved to South Africa when I was a child and that is where we were first introduced to this stunning breed. Forty odd years later and I still would have nothing else. My pack consists of Milo 8 ˝ years, Kara 3 ˝ years and Jazzie who is 2. They are always pet dogs first!

When I was lucky enough to find Kara I decided to dabble in a bit of showing – and have never looked back! I now show Kara and Jazzie and we love it and they have both qualified for Crufts every year! However, they are still my gorgeous pet dogs and have been brought up in a normal family household and are a .... (click to read more)

We first encountered Ridgebacks in 1989 during a trip to South Africa but, for all sorts of reasons waited 20 years before 'switching' to this wonderful breed. My wife and I are both professionals with busy working lives so needless to say we adore the companionship, loyalty and endless hours of fun that we get from our pair who have recently produced a beautiful litter. The dam is absolutely adorable - demure yet fiercely protective. The big guy on the other hand is so laid back that he can sleep standing up - until, that is, he sees a rabbit and then all hell breaks loose! Wish we hadn't .... (click to read more)

From the very 1st time I saw my 1st ridgeback I knew that I had to share my life with them and have done so since 1978 when Nelson became my best friend. Since then I have been extremely fortunate and have had the pleasure of always having a ridgeback at home. Jellicoe senior and Nelson and just recently my beautiful Nell are running free over rainbow bridge but we still share our lives with Jellicoe junior now 12 years young and Nells daughter Izzy.

I have two bitches, mother Nala & daughter, Maya 2 yrs. Both dogs have been shown in the ring, but being self employed and working most weekends restrict my active participation in showing.

First owned by Rhodesian Ridgebacks in 1986; we bought our 2nd in 1987 and started showing him at open shows.
We spent longer researching the breed before buying our 3rd who became our foundation bitch; Champion Sansilver Pumalanga (Pet name Abby).
Four generations of our dogs live happily together in the home. We breed for type and temperament - you will see from pictures and critiques that our dogs have plenty of bone and substance but not so much that they could not do the job that they were originally bred for. Head type is very important to us as is balance and movement. We are .... (click to read more)

We purchased our first Ridgeback in 1996 who was a ‘liver nose’, and although we did not obtain her with a view to taking her into the show ring, the bug didn’t take long to bite!
Since then we have added to our furry family and now have a full four generations in our Kennels.
We are regularly seen at shows both in the U.K. and on the Continent having achieved many awards including a Group Placing in The Republic of Ireland and a C.A.C.I.B in France to add to the many other awards including the Champion Title gained in the U.K.
