The Whipspan affix was first registered in the mid 1960's, with the first litter of Cocker Spaniels born in 1969.
Pointers were added in 1984, and 23 years on, they are still the same type and quality. At Whipspan Kennels, we take special pride in maintaining correct temperament, type and quality, and will continue to do so.
I have specialised in these two breeds for decades with many Champions in the UK and Overseas having been bred at WHIPSPAN.
During the past few years I am immensley proud to have won BEST OF SEX at CRUFTS with no less than FOUR of my dogs, .... (click to read more)

Bonnygate has been involved with Pointers since acquiring their first Pointer in 1977. This was Cumbrian Kruger (James of Crookrise ex Cumbrian Black Satin) obtained from the late George Holliday. Our next Pointer was Dorabells King Arrogance (Eaglesham Sirius ex Debbie of Crookrise) from Doris & Louis Costello. Then in 1979 came Cumbrian Sea Chieftain (Sh. Ch. & Braz. Ch. Crookrise Rio ex Cumbrian Sea Gail). Chiefie became the foundation, along with Cumbrian Diana (James of Crookrise ex Cumbrian Sea Shell), of the Bonnygate Pointers. I show my Pointers regularly. I do not have kennels, they live in the house as part of the family. They are regularly given free running exercise on Salisbury Plain where they show good aptitude for finding birds.
I am currently on both the Southern Pointer Club and the Pointer Club B Judging Breed Specialist list and have attended all the required seminars.
I am a member of The Pointer Club and the Southern Pointer Club.

I have bred working labradors in the past and trained them to the gun but we have only discovered the joys of pointers when our lovely bitch Lilly (Tomlow Face The Music) arrived. Lilly was bred by Karen Sillince.
Lilly had a beautiful litter of 8 in 2010 by Hampsbeck Chaos . They are all stunning dogs. Chablilly Sing the Blues has done well in the show ring and I kept a orange and white dog Bertie who like his Mum is a joy to own. Lilly had a second litter of 9 in 2012 by the lovely Wilchrimane Black Ice. I kept an orange and white bitch Chablilly Frosted Ivy (Maisie). I have shown her .... (click to read more)
