Zarcrest was originally established in 1968 with a Whippet. 1988 saw the introduction of the Dachshund a Miniature Long Haired who 23 years later still remains in all of the Zarcrest's today. Ours is a hobby kennel not a commercial one, and for this reason all our dogs are bred and reared to the highest possible standards living in our home as our family pets. Our successes in competition speak for themselves… and the rest is just history.

I have owned many Dachshunds over the past 20 years or so all have been standards, either long haired or smooth haired and have varied greatly in colour.
I currently own 4 beautiful Dachshunds and my daughter owns one other the older of my dogs are now 8 years old and are enjoying an active life with their children and grandchildren.
I am an occasional home breeder and take a lot of pride in both my dogs and the puppies that they have produced, I have been told some have made it to Crufts but I'm not sure as yet whether any have become champions.
