The 'Amarantos' kennel have a strong reputation of consistently producing well-bred, quality Chihuahuas over the past 29 years. We have exhibited the breed for this period of time, not simply owned the occasional family pet. We did not start to breed until we knew exactly what we wanted to produce.

I purchased my very own dog in 1980 a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and kept them up until 2007.

We have only been owners of Shibas and Akitas and Long Haired Chihuahuas for a few years. We got our first Shiba in 2005 and our first Akita in 2007. In 2009 we added to our family when we fell in love with a little chocolate long coated chihuahua.
We now have 5 Shibas, 4 Akitas and 4 long coated Chihuahua and couldn't imagine life without our boys and girls.
We are only a small breeder and to date have only had 4 shiba litters,1 Akita Litter and just had our first chihuahua litter as we only breed to improve the breed and to add to our own doggy family.
