I've been involved in showing, breeding , judging and working dogs for over 30 years. I enjoyed 10 years as consultant to the BBC regarding showdogs and aspects of canine health and breeding, following a career as a horsewoman. Dogs and horses are kind of similar...both blossom in good hands and the real joy is watching a character you have nurtured , grow into a confident and loving companion , able to do the task he has been chosen for.
I have been lucky enough to have had sucess in most doggy activities...The hard work is in the healthscreening and careful selection of dogs, so...the .... (click to read more) -

We first came upon Spinone in the early 90’s when we were looking for a suitable companion for our Giant Schnauzer, Hansel. The KC gave us the ISCGB club secretary’s contact details & much to our delight, we found she only lived a half hours drive away. We rang to arrange a visit & that was our first meeting with Linda Collins, of Wynsett fame.
Over the following years, we became close friends & when we were ready for another dog, Linda gave us a 3 year old w/o bitch called Gloria. Later that same year Linda had a litter from Gloria’s sister Gypsy and Lui (aka Sh Ch Wynsett Xcalaber) came .... (click to read more) -

My interest and love of dogs began as far back as I can remember and I have never not had a dog in my life. Our first dog was a German Shepherd Tina who we sadly lost at the ripe old age of 14. Since then I have owned Boxers along with working terriers, and a rescue Parson Russell. It was after the premature loss of our last Boxer that we began our search for our next dog, we decided to look at a number of different breeds, for one that would be compatible with our Parson and with our young family. After much research we happened across the Italian Spinone and instantly feel in love with that .... (click to read more)

We are a small home based kennel, all our dogs live in with us and are a major part of our family - okay so they outnumber the humans!
I have owned bearded collies since 1985, the first being a lovely Sallen bitch, Sean added spinoni to our home in 2003. It is only since 2004 that we have had the time and money to devote to breeding.
We only breed from our girls because we'd like to keep a pup for ourselves, we don't breed that often, usually around once a year at most, therefore we very occasionally have pups available for very special homes. Our aim is to breed the best we .... (click to read more) -

I have had dogs all my life, mainly Heinz varieties. It wasnt until I was on maternity leave that I seriously looked at The Italian Spinone as a pet and family member. Even with three young children, a home isnt a home without a dog.
At Crufts in 2003 I saw a lovely young bitch win her class in Sp Junior. That bitch turned out to be mother to my first Spinoni 'Olive' in 2005.
Olive and I dabbled with showing. Our first show was a Championship show. I was so nervous. We came second and had qualified for Crufts! I felt like Cinderella.
We went from strength to strength.
In 2006 .... (click to read more) -

Awelymor is not a commercial kennels and all our dogs are first and foremost much loved members of the family. For us showing our dogs is about meeting like minded people and having a fun day out with friends.
Both my husband and myself have owned gundogs since childhood particularly English Springer Spaniels and the Hungarian Vizsla. We were introduced to Italian Spinone just over seven years ago and this led us to buy our first Spinone, Mia. In 2009 we decided to try our hand at showing and have had relative success with our two youngest girls. At the beginning of 2010 we were given .... (click to read more) -

I have bred and owned spinoni since 1993. I am interested in breeding, showing, judging, working, obedience and agility. To further my breeding programme I imported a brown roan bitch Bella in March 2006, and continue to enjoy visits to the Italian Raduno shows, not only for the wealth of experience available from the Italian breeders but for the wine and pasta!!
After many years of breeding CC and RCC winners, my proudest achievement is to have produced three Show Champions in one litter from my home bred Redrue Recital x Laerzio.
My current household consists of 6 spinoni .... (click to read more) -

I have had Spinone's for over 9 years now. I currently show and breed Spinone's. I previously bred and showed Boxers. I grew up with gundogs, English Springer Spaniels, that is where my interest in dogs began. I used to help my dad train his gundogs for going out to work in the field. I have been in the dog world for over 30 years now, and showing for over 20. I have carried out limited gundog training with the Spinone's but it is something i would love to do more of.
I health screen all my breeding Spinone's, hip score and CA test, so puppies are from health tested parents. -

We bought our first Spinone in 1988 and have always had at least one since then. Currently we have two bitches, Tia and Jana, and a dog called Luca.
Having tried showing over the years, on and off with various dogs, the only real success we have had is with Tia and we are truely amazed that she not only gained a junior warrant but has also won 9 CCs. The latest being best of breed at Crufts this year. Also, our puppy Jana, Tia's daughter, won her class at Crufts this year. What a fantastic day that was!
We don't work our dogs but they do have frequent extended walks, off the .... (click to read more) -
