I've been involved in showing, breeding , judging and working dogs for over 30 years. I enjoyed 10 years as consultant to the BBC regarding showdogs and aspects of canine health and breeding, following a career as a horsewoman. Dogs and horses are kind of similar...both blossom in good hands and the real joy is watching a character you have nurtured , grow into a confident and loving companion , able to do the task he has been chosen for.
I have been lucky enough to have had sucess in most doggy activities...The hard work is in the healthscreening and careful selection of dogs, so...the .... (click to read more)

My interest and love of dogs began as far back as I can remember and I have never not had a dog in my life. Our first dog was a German Shepherd Tina who we sadly lost at the ripe old age of 14. Since then I have owned Boxers along with working terriers, and a rescue Parson Russell. It was after the premature loss of our last Boxer and subsequent heartbreak that went with that, we began our search for our next dog we looked at a number of different breeds for one that would be compatible with our Parson and with our young family. After much research we happened across the Italian Spinone and .... (click to read more)

We first came upon Spinone in the early 90’s when we were looking for a suitable companion for our Giant Schnauzer, Hansel. The KC gave us the ISCGB club secretary’s contact details & much to our delight, we found she only lived a half hours drive away. We rang to arrange a visit & that was our first meeting with Linda Collins, of Wynsett fame.
Over the following years, we became close friends & when we were ready for another dog, Linda gave us a 3 year old w/o bitch called Gloria. Later that same year Linda had a litter from Gloria’s sister Gypsy and Lui (aka Sh Ch Wynsett Xcalaber) came .... (click to read more)

We fell in love with the Spinone many years ago but our circumstances at the time weren't suitable for bringing this fabulous breed into our lives. When we had the opportunity almost 5 years ago to build our own house, my first consideration in the design was to make it Spinone friendly and I think we succeeded. Cesca joined our family 4 years ago and has been a joy. She has just presented us with a beautiful litter of 5 pups, and of course we will be keeping one.

Having always had Springer Spaniels and going to many game fairs over the years I came across Italian Spinone. I immediately fell in love with them. My first Spinone joined me in 2000 who was a great gundog and sorely missed having lost him in 2013. They are a breed that get under your skin and one is never enough. They are a sensitive breed and are very clever. I currently have 4 Spinone and a working cocker. My dogs are my loving pets and part of my family first and foremost, anything they achieve is a definate bonus. I'm thrilled to have made up a Show Champion with my boy Quest a dream .... I have owned this wonderful breed since 1993. I first saw them at Crufts and was captivated by their soft expression and temprement.
I have had four bitches all of which were the love of my life. At present I am on my 5th a young brown roan bitch called Delta who is a great grand daughter to my lovely Zena and grand daughter to Pru who was my only home bred Spinoni.
I lightly show my dogs but mainly they are my companions and very much family pets.
I find the breed extremely easy to train as they love human company so much and always want to please.

I have had dogs in my life for over 20 years and ran a busy kennels for 15 years. I fell in love with a dear Spinone that regularly stayed with us and it all began from there!

We are now very lucky to own a family of Spinoni all of which have good hip scores and are CA clear.

Our occasional puppies grow up in a family enviroment, taking over part of the house as they grow. They are all health checked by the vet before the leave and their new homes not only have to provide love and care but also be able to accommodate the needs of a spinone.
