I became interested in showing Great Danes after purchasing my first Dane from the Hazevern Kennels in April 2000. We are a dog loving family living in dorset,where the dogs are very much part of our lifes.The Affix LUKYMA was granted to me in 2006 and is made up of the first 2 letters of our 3 childrens names.
Luke,Kylie-sue and Maddison.
We love to show our dogs and it is very much a family affair with Luke handling our home bred girl Star.

We are a small kennels,and all our dogs are tested for Hip Dysplasia and Glaucoma, our policy is to breed for type and temperament. We feel it is very important in this day and age that breeders, breed responsibly, and only from sound stock.
We have had some very good results around the show ring, and find that our dogs really enjoy the show ring, and the days out that come with that.

The first Australian Shepherd arrived at Lyveden to join the Great Danes in 1987, Ria was a character and produced 2 lovely litters. Deedy arrived in 1988 and Lacey in 1991, all the girls produced some lovely offspring.

In 1997 I imported my first bitch from the Hall of Fame kennel 'Fairoaks' in the USA, Nita.

In 1998 Gunnar arrived from the top working kennel in Sweden 'Mr Binks'

In 1999 Lindi arrived also from 'Fairoaks'.

A firm foundation for the future from these great lines of the past.

Satinea - So How Did it Begin

I can proudly say "It's my parents fault". I was born into a life of dogs and cats. My parents owned two Afghans one of which "Kushindu Back Tulip" enjoyed success in the showring, also living at home was a Saluki and a Chinchilla Cat.
I was introduced to the world of showing with my Blue Persian cat, then with rabbits and finally with dogs. In 1993 I was allowed my first dog she was a Black & Silver Miniature Schnauzer "Sabrewood Honey Belle at Satinea" or Zuki to us.
