Amscot Kennels is one of only a handful of true dual purpose kennels in the UK, meaning the Gordons are capable of working on a grouse moor or on partridge / pheasant at the highest level, being shown at Championship level in a show ring and making excellent pets. Many owners have come back to replace their beloved Gordon when it passes on. That is the highest recommendation I could have.

I bought my first Gordon in 1983 and now have my 8th generation direct line descendants to that original Gordon.

I have bred, owned and campaigned the first Dual Champion Setter in UK history. .... (click to read more)

I started with Gordon Setters in 1986. I strive to produce Gordons who are sound, look good, have a good temperament and can do the job they were bred to do. The Gordons in my kennel have won a number of awards in field trials. All dogs in my kennel are hip scored and when breeding I only use dogs that have a score below the breed average. Following the development of the DNA test for late onset PRA in March 2011 all my dogs that will be used for future breeding have been DNA tested or are hereditry clear

In 2007 I imported 2 dogs from Italy that are a mix of Warrenfell and European .... (click to read more)

We have owned Gordon Setters for 26 years and have bred one full champion and four other CC and RCC winners.
Our dogs are pets first and foremost but we do show and all our dogs work - we are part of a small grouse counting team and regularly compete in field trials and do occasional shoots.
All of our dogs are health tested, for hips and eyes and are DNA tested for PRA Rcd4.
We only breed occasionally and only when we wish to keep a dog ourselves.
We are a member of all four breed clubs, with Tony on the committee of the Gordon Setter Club of Scotland for the last 19 years and .... (click to read more)
