I have lived with dogs all my life and grew up with Newfoundland’s which my parents bred and showed.

I was 14 when I first saw a Gordon Setter at an Agricultural show and fell in love instantly knowing that they were the breed for me, much to my parents dismay! Paul's first glimpse of them was at Crufts and luckily or divorce may well have followed, he also was smitten on sight.

We took home our first Gordon male ‘Wesley’ 13 years ago and decided that to learn more about the breed we would give showing a go. Fortunately, we have been very successful, and Wesley gained his Junior .... (click to read more)

I have lived with dogs all my life, and have owned setters for over forty years. I initially owned Irish Setters, and registered the Affix I used then in 1975, and began showing. I was bitten by the bug, but I soon discovered that dog showing did not sit well with two very active young children, so I gave up the hobby until nearly fifteen years ago.
I obtained my first Gordon Setter in 1986 and my first show dog in 1998, and my current Affix was registered in late 1999. My first litter produced the Top Puppy in Breed in 2003, and in 2007, I was delighted to make up his litter sister as my .... (click to read more)

I started my involvement with Setters when I had an Irish setter her breeding being mainly the famous Wendover lines. In 1979 I registered my affix, LAURELHACH and followed this with a Gordon Setter.
I first gave CCs in the breed in 1995 and have since awarded them on several occasions including the pleasure to award them at the GSA Championship Show in 2005. In April 2006 I judged the breed at the Gordon Setter Club of NSW in Australia, Sydney and was warmly welcomed by the exhibitors who presented such sound Gordons of all ages for me to appraise. I recently judged the breed at the .... (click to read more)

My life in Gordon Setters spans over 35 years now and in this time I have had the pleasure of owning and breeding some beautiful dogs. I have been a Kennel Club Assured Breeder for many years now and I am a life member of The British Gordon Setter Club and The Gordon Setter Association and am also a member of The Gordon Setter Club of Scotland. I have had the pleasure of judging both here and abroad and on my first judging appointment in Australia I was immensely impressed with their Gordons both for quality, temperaments and type, so much so that in 1997 I imported a bitch from the .... I have always lived with dogs and have bred very occassionaly to keep a puppy (springer spaniel). In 2009, I was introduced to Gordon Setters at Lowther Country Fair and was smitten! This beautiful breed, with its silky black and tan coat, flying feathers and elegant movement, was imprinted on my memory. Two years later my faithful old Springer died and I recalled the Gordon Setter. After much research, a suitable puppy was found in Dorset, and she was brought home to the Ribble Valley. Freya is very well bred with American and Australian lines, and shown lightly. She lives in our home with .... (click to read more)

Amscot Kennels is one of only a handful of true dual purpose kennels in the UK, meaning the Gordons are capable of working on a grouse moor or on partridge / pheasant at the highest level, being shown at Championship level in a show ring and making excellent pets. Many owners have come back to replace their beloved Gordon when it passes on. That is the highest recommendation I could have.

I bought my first Gordon in 1983 and now have my 8th generation direct line descendants to that original Gordon.

I have bred, owned and campaigned the first Dual Champion Setter in UK history. .... (click to read more)
