    Our affix is ‘Lignum’, derived from the Latin Lignum Vitae, meaning ‘tree or wood of life’. The Lignum Vitae tree is a hardwood, often being black and tan in colour and is extremely durable.

    Having both grown up with a menagerie of animals, including horses, dogs, cats, alpacas and various feathered friends, in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside, life will never be complete without a dog or two (or six) in our household ;)

    Jose has shown and owned Gordons since 1975. Having bred 30 Champions, the Lourdace kennel is renounded internationally as one of the top kennels in the breed. David Alcorn has been involved with Gordons for around 15 years, most notably with Sh Ch Lourdace Fulcrum JW who was Crufts Best of Breed in 2015 and 2016, has 30CC's and is five times a group winner.

    We have owned Gordon Setters for 26 years and have bred one full champion and four other CC and RCC winners.
    Our dogs are pets first and foremost but we do show and all our dogs work - we are part of a small grouse counting team and regularly compete in field trials and do occasional shoots.
    All of our dogs are health tested, for hips and eyes and are DNA tested for PRA Rcd4.
    We only breed occasionally and only when we wish to keep a dog ourselves.

    Hernwood Gordon setters, started in 1984. We have bred several Champions, with dogs winning also in the USA & Canada. We are a small kennel with a big reputation & only bred the occasional litter.Pete & Chris started out in the mid 1980s when they purchased their first Gordon from the Lourdace kennels.     Longrow is an experienced kennel who have been successfully exhibiting this gorgeous breed at Championship and Open shows since 2000.     Our current bitch, Freyja, is inquisitive, exuberant and has a lovely temperament. She is from the well-known Lochfain kennel and is registered as Lochfain Northern Desire.

    Pegasett is a small show kennel, I have had setters for over 30 years I got my first Gordon Setter in 1987 From the Prairiedawn Kennel as a pet only but had a little fun at local open shows. I start showing around 7 years ago with my dog Leo from the Lochfain Kennel Leo did very well at both Championship and open show Level, He was joined By Craigan Lochfain Now Endless Summer at Pegasett he has also done very well in the ring winning the Dogg CC and Best of Breed at Leeds in 2007 under Breed Judge Mr G Coupe.     I started my involvement with Setters when I had an Irish setter her breeding being mainly the famous Wendover lines. In 1979 I registered my affix, LAURELHACH and followed this with a Gordon Setter.
    I first gave CCs in the breed in 1995 and have since awarded them on several occasions including the pleasure to award them at the GSA Championship Show in 2005. In April 2006 I judged the breed at the Gordon Setter Club of NSW in Australia, Sydney and was warmly welcomed by the exhibitors who presented such sound Gordons of all ages for me to appraise.     Dunfionn Gordon Setters is a small kennel in Ayrshire, Scotland, established in 1980. We have owned or bred eleven UK Show Champions and other CC and Res CC winners and aim to produce traditional Gordon Setters which are of sound mind and body and, most importantly, are suitable family pets.     I have always lived with dogs and have bred very occassionaly to keep a puppy (springer spaniel). In 2009, I was introduced to Gordon Setters at Lowther Country Fair and was smitten! This beautiful breed, with its silky black and tan coat, flying feathers and elegant movement, was imprinted on my memory. Two years later my faithful old Springer died and I recalled the Gordon Setter. After much research, a suitable puppy was found in Dorset, and she was brought home to the Ribble Valley.
