Having both grown up with a menagerie of animals, including horses, dogs, cats, alpacas and various feathered friends, in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside, life will never be complete without a dog or two (or six) in our household ;)

Our first Gordon Setter joined us in 1999, “Oscar”, Aldabrook Wizard of Oz. Oscar was brought as a pet and we knew nothing about showing but after some gentle encouragement from Pauline Quarterman we enjoyed 6 great years of showing Oscar. In 2000 “Fraser” Aldabrook Fraternal Fella joined us, my loveable rouge and tramp as he became known as, was not a show dog, preferring to stay at home. After the loss of Oscar in 2006, “Callum” Aldabrook High Hopes came to keep Fraser company as he just could not cope being on his own having only know life with Oscar.

I have lived with dogs all my life, and have owned setters for over forty years. I initially owned Irish Setters, and registered the Affix I used then in 1975, and began showing. I was bitten by the bug, but I soon discovered that dog showing did not sit well with two very active young children, so I gave up the hobby until nearly fifteen years ago.
I obtained my first Gordon Setter in 1986 and my first show dog in 1998, and my current Affix was registered in late 1999. My first litter produced the Top Puppy in Breed in 2003, and in 2007, I was delighted to make up his litter sister as my .... (click to read more)

I have lived with dogs all my life and grew up with Newfoundland’s which my parents bred and showed.

I was 14 when I first saw a Gordon Setter at an Agricultural show and fell in love instantly knowing that they were the breed for me, much to my parents dismay! Paul's first glimpse of them was at Crufts and luckily or divorce may well have followed, he also was smitten on sight.

We took home our first Gordon male ‘Wesley’ over 15 years ago and decided that to learn more about the breed we would give showing a go. Fortunately, we have been very successful, and Wesley gained his .... (click to read more)
