We became involved with showing and breeding Irish Setters early in the 1970's in Kenya where our affix was registered as "Chancery". On our return to the UK we were unable to use our Kenyan title so our UK affix was registered as "Kyuna" in the mid 70's. We acquired our first Gordon in 1981, Winterwood Snow Faerie who became our first Gordon show champion. Our family of Gordons currently range from 20 months - 13.1/2 years, all have been home bred for type, temperament and soundness (fit for purpose).

I am a Kennel Club Assured Breeder, and a member of several Breed Clubs, and have owned setters for over forty years. I initially owned Irish Setters, and registered the Affix I used then in 1975, and began showing. I was bitten by the bug, but I soon discovered that dog showing did not sit well with two very active young children, so I gave up the hobby until nearly fifteen years ago.

I live with my 5 Gordons near Hailsham East Sussex. It is a small kennel and I breed a litter about twice in three years. I also show them mainly locally but have qualified dogs that I have bred, for Crufts for the last 7 years. I bred my first Gordon litter 8 years ago but have had Gordons both in UK and when I lived in New Zealand for the past 55 years. I saw my first Gordon inScotland then and we have had at least one usually more ever since. I started with Gordon Setters in 1986. I strive to produce Gordons who are sound, look good, have a good temperament and can do the job they were bred to do. The Gordons in my kennel have won a number of awards in field trials. Warrenfell has produced 7 litters to date as I only breed a litter when I want to keep a pup for myself. All dogs in my kennel are hip scored and when breeding I only use dogs that have a score below the breed average. Pegasett is a small show kennel, I have had setters for over 30 years I got my first Gordon Setter in 1987 From the Prairiedawn Kennel as a pet only but had a little fun at local open shows. We are a small kennel that has successfully bred and shown under the Marshmoor affix. We are delighted to have recently made up Sh Ch Marshmoor Macdona who was sired by our own Spingor Glenord. All our dogs live indoors and are much loved family pets.

I became a proud owner of a English Setter in 1998, called Barley. I discovered Gordon Setters in 2001 when I was lucky enough to own Hugo as a Puppy. Since then I have bred 5 generations of Gordon Setters which are loved dearly. Whilst I occasionally show my Gordon Setters and have had many good results in the show ring, all my dogs are first and formally family pets.

I started my involvement with Setters when I had an Irish setter her breeding being mainly the famous Wendover lines. In 1979 I registered my affix, LAURELHACH and followed this with a Gordon Setter.
I first gave CCs in the breed in 1995 and have since awarded them on several occasions including the pleasure to award them at the GSA Championship Show in 2005. The first Boyers gordon was purchased in 1972 with the aim of producing sound dual purpose gordon setters, ie dogs that look good and can work as well, and also have good, biddable temperments. It has been successful in this aim and has produced Champions, Sh Champions and field trial award winners consistantly over this period. I never breed a litter unless I intend to keep a puppy as my dogs are kept as pets with showing and trialling as a hobby.
